Great Tent — Dark Enough to Nap During Daytime!
This tent is awesome. Purchased for family camping with a toddler, infant and dog. Comfortably fits a Queen-size and a twin-size aerobed blow-up mattresses, plus a pack-and-play and a dog bed (50-pound dog) with a decent amount of space to move around, but minimal storage for gear/clothes etc. It's a perfect size for a family of four, although it's technically an 8-man tent. You could probably fit 8 people if they slept shoulder-to-shoulder on the floor if you had to.Set up is super straightforward with two-pole dome design, I did it by myself with minimal help from my three year old son and still managed to keep an eye on the crawling-everywhere baby. Easy peasy, even with moderate wind (we were camping near beach). Lightweight and easy to pack back up, but it seems pretty sturdy and well-made, but I can't speak about long-term durability as we've only used it once.About the darkroom technology — it's great! IT's actually dark enough inside to sleep during the day, and it stays relatively cool with the fly on. You can definitely sleep in past dawn without feeling like you're in a greenhouse. Pretty cool.

Excellent waterproof bottom!
This tent is awesome! This is our 3rd year using it. Last night it poured and it was sitting in a giant puddle when the rain stopped. Walking in the tent was like walking on a water bed. The inside of the tent was totally DRY! Highly recommend this tent!

It survived but for how long.
Context-survived 3 camping trips, two of which were very wet and had heavy rain over night. In terms of dark room tech, yes it's dark. So much so that I need a light during the day if the sun isn't coming through the front window. I feel like they could have had less darkening and it still would have felt very dark. It's not 100% dark in direct sun but plenty dark.8 person size is avg compared to other 8 person size tents. Felt more than enough room for 3 people with all our gear and being mindful of our shoes near the opening. Glad we went with this size. Sky dome was fantastic. Did not go for the 4 person because specs show we couldn't stand upright.Easy to break down and the poles help to guide rolling it back up-just keep folding the tent to the length of those disassembled poles and roll it up. It doesn't fit in the OG tent bag but the bag is meant to be cut at the bottom to expand and everything fits in tight but still with room.Cons- The zipper frequently gets stuck. I feel like this is because the door opening is so big that the tension of the tent makes this constantly a 2 or 3 hand job. Realistically, we could get by with half the size.-Because of the size, I feel it needs ground vents to help with circulation, especially with only one opening (that usually closes up at night because you want the dark room tech for the morning.) We had tension on the rain fly to allow for airflow and it didn't seem enough. Though on a cold night, where the tent pockets are near the door on the side, it pulls the tent down so that side will always have airflow even if you don't want it to.-Water did accumulate in the inner seam where the tent fabric meets the tarp bucket. This might need some water seal tape if this tent is revised. Even in heavy rain, it didn't leak and pool but I did see it consistently wet with drops around the seam on each side. The most concerning part related to durability is the rain fly. This was waterproof and kept us dry but by the end of the third trip, we had tears at the velcro that helps to attach it to the bars. I still think we will be dry and water getting in their will flow down the pole but this could have been avoided with just a inch more Velcro on each side where it's not constantly under tension but serves it's purpose to keep it on the pole and help secure it if windy. I feel like the hooks to the 4 corners is what really keeps it down so that Velcro really shouldn't need to be under tension.
