While I loved the artwork in both books, this book is a vast improvement in how it is printed compared to the copy of her first book that I purchased. In that book, the skin tones were too dark and rather muddy. Because of how clear and good the contrast is in this book, I am left wondering if I received a bad printing with the first one. I really like this book. I love the artwork as I do with Ms. Fenech's line drawn coloring books as well. This book appears to have been taken, at least in part, from the first mermaids line coloring book Ms. Fenech published. I don't own that book so I can't verify that for sure. This book has many mermaids – both close ups of one and group designs of multiple mermaids. There are a couple of designs that mimic Art Nouveau poster art and which match the lovely fairies that I colored in the first grayscale coloring book by this artist. I'm looking forward to coloring these pictures and having fun with the colorways because the book contains two of each of the twenty-five designs. If I really mess something up, I have another one to try. If I have problems deciding on a colorway, I have two designs that I can try two different ways. For my first projects, I used alcohol markers with an overlay of colored pencils. It worked well but as I am new to all of this, the results are not all that great – but I sure enjoyed the time I spent coloring these pretty pictures. 25 x 2 each Grayscale Designs from Selina Fenech's actual artwork Printed on one side of CreateSpace typical white, thin non-perforated paper Glue Bound Designs do not merge into the binding area. There is a framing line around the outside of each design so you can cut the page out without any design loss. Alcohol and water-based markers bleed through this paper (I suggest you use a blotter page below the page you are working on if you use these.) Gel pens and India ink pens leave color shadows on the back of the page. Coloring pencils work well with this paper. You can put down light to heavy color, it blends and layers well. Hard lead pencils leave dents on the back of the page. Review: There are 2 photos of each print ,paper weight is perfect and every photo is gorgeous. - Absolutely love love love this book ,another great one from Selina Feneck, the paper weight is great they are printed on one side only and when you get to the end of your book you get to start over as there are 2 of every picture that way if you make a mistake or decide you want it another color you get to do this ,and EVERY PHOTO is gorgeous ,the grsyscale is perfect to not to dark or to light this is a great book and the price is so good because its like getting 2 books.

Looks beautiful with watercolors!!!
The coloring pages are absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I bought them so that I could paint over them using watercolors/watercolor brush pens and they work fantastically for that! There are 2 copies of each page so if you mess one up or want to color them with 2 different types of mediums you can do so. I used a masking type fluid on them to be able to saturate the page more with liquid without ruining the paper they are on. And I cut each page out individually which was very easy to do as there is room next to the spine on all the pictures to be able to cut them out.

Pretty pictures
Pretty pictures...many of these sadly have circulated online, but I wanted to see if the book had different quality paper or different grayscale. It is different from the ones online and considering I didn't pay much for the book and she has duplicates of the pages in the book it was worth it to me to make the purchase, but not sure if someone else would feel the same way. Pages are not perforated so I'm not looking forward to wanting to tear out a page without ruining it... Oh btw, The grayscale also seems like it may be easier than other books I've had so this may be a great beginner book for someone who is not familiar with shading techniques.

I'm so in love with this coloring book!!! This is the first time I've ever purchased a grayscale coloring book and now I will never go back to other coloring books!! Selena's images are absolutely breathtaking!!! They also help me to connect with myself on a deep level as I'm coloring. Especially helpful during quarantine! I want to buy every single one of her books!!! I'm hooked!!

Awesome One-Sided Beautiful Book!
An amazing collection of mermaid themed grayscale drawings! Very stunning and beautiful pictures! They also give you 2 sets of each one in this book. This book is also not double sided pages so you dont have to worry about what you use to color with.My only complaints are that the book isn't perforated so you have to cut out your coloring page by hand individually with a hobby knife to display it or else leave it in the book itself and that the only thing that I have found looks good so far is colored pencils. You definitely have to use a very lightweight or semitransparent type of colors to color them with in order to show all of the grayscale details in some of the pictures.

Absolutely stunningly beautiful images to color!
Selina French is Amazing!!! I'm new to grayscale adult coloring books but I love them. Her use of grayscale is perfect! It really makes her pictures 'pop' & when colored the fantasy pictures look like real photographs, just truly beautiful! One sided images perfect for colored pencils & gel pens which is what I use. Just love this book!

Not my Favorite
The paper is high quality, but has repeat prints. There are a few pics with fuzzy grey scale prints.

Loved it. Beautiful greyscale mermaid drawings printed on one side. The greyscale makes it make easier to create shadows and tones.

Selina Fenech is one of my favourite artists, and when she started doing colouring books I was beyond excited, but when she added grayscale ones to her list of books I was ecstatic, especially this one which contains 25 of her beautiful mermaid masterpieces grayscaled for you to colour. This book contains the same 25 pieces of artwork as her Mermaids Calm Ocean Coloring Book which are just the outlines. You will find hours of enjoyment from this book. There are 50 pages to colour, 25 single sided designs that are doubled so if you mess up you can start again without having to copy it or you can colour it two ways or even share. The book is a Createspace publication therefore it's on medium weight paper which markers will bleed through and gel pens will leave a shadow on the back of the page. Coloured pencils work well with this paper. If using markers be sure to put a couple of blank pages between the next design to avoid bleedthrough on it. If you love mermaids, and or Selina Fenech's artwork this book is a must have It contains my all time favourite piece called Motherhood.
