Can't say this made a very visible difference. I have very dark brown, completely untreated hair and I got a very, very subtle blue tint. More subtle than I'd hoped for and it soon wore off. It did make my hair soft, shiny and somewhat darker for a couple of weeks. I just don't think it was quite worth the money or effort. The tube of conditioner that comes with it is great, though.

I purchased this online, I am a hair color junkie and I thought it was interesting that Loreal had a black blue hair dye! My starting color was a level 8/9 brassy mustard blonde. I wanted to see how well this would turn out on my overbleached overprocessed hair without a color filler. Guess what? After 20 minutes, my hair went from dirty mustard blonde to a sleek elegant black with blue undertones! In certain lighting and natural sunlight, you can see a rich deep navy blue in the base of the color. Its a nice balance for anyone who wants a natural and unnatural hue all at once!

This is a lovely, deep blue-black. The blue tones are very, very visible for the first two weeks, then start to fade, especially if you wash your hair frequently. I wash about once a week, use water and conditioner only the rest of the time, and I still got some fading, but only of the blue tones. The black has remained true and deep, and glossy like a raven's wing. Beware -- you will stain your towels indigo, especially after you wash your hair, so either have dark towels or be ready to bleach your white ones. But I love this colour, it's perfect for me, and the price on Amazon is much better than locally, where I usually pay $10 a box for it. This is my holy grail blue black, and they better not discontinue it!

Arrived early! Note that the box says this hair dye works best on naturally brunette hair and will not produce the midnight black for lighter colours. My local drugstore shutdown so I have to get my hair color online and am happy with how quickly it arrived.
