The best rice cooker we've owned and the stainless steel bowl and streamer is awesome.
We wanted a bit smaller rice cooker, because our 8 cup cook up too much counter space and the bowl inside had the non-stick coating was scratching off with use. Yuk! I wanted a healthier option for my family of 4 adults that makes rice very often. I ordered this rice cooker and could not be more impressed! This 6 cup makes more than enough rice, it's cooks the rice perfectly and the 1 lever operation is very simple. Not having a non-stick coated bowl is wonderful and easier to clean, too. This medium sized cooker can cook many things and steam veggies, fish, chicken, etc.. while the rice is being made! It's cool! I love the size and fits nicely on our counter top, too. It's a little bit more for the stainless rice bowl and steamer, but I feel it was well worth the few dollars more. We love this price cooker and give it 5 Stars!

Running strong over 2 years now
This rice cooker is a work horse and easy to use. Used and abused by our family for over 2 years and no signs of wear. We have zero complaints and only praise. Whether long grain, jasmine or short grain calrose sticky rice, our rice is always perfect. Even when we add almond and raisins or pistachio nuts and onions, as long as our rice water ratio follows the guidelines it comes out texture and flavor perfect. The streamer is super useful for buns and dumplings. The best part is gorgeous heavy duty stainless and glass lid. The stranger is also stainless. Never had a problem with burning it sticking. Easy clean up. No toxic chemicals or plastics in my food. We love that.Great price. Lower watts for running off solar.

If I had to pick just one Appliance to own it would be this one
This is an extremely useful Appliance. I owned an aroma rice cooker a few years ago and it had been a reliable and useful Appliance. I think I gave it away. This new one is amazing. The pot inside is not only stainless steel but it's a very high-quality with a good thick Heavy bottom to it so you could actually set it on a stove burner and use it that way. I have successfully cooked many things in this rice cooker including quinoa and Kasha but also have boiled eggs and pasta. You could even sauté onions in olive oil using this device. The only grain I don't make in this pot is barley. It cooks fine but There is significant sticking. So that's fine because I just cook barley in the slow cooker now. When I boiled pasta the steamer basket served as the perfect colander for the cooked pasta. Sometimes I use the pot on my stove burner when I just want to steam some broccoli. I do use a burner trivet but it's probably not necessary. The steamer basket is great for rinsing the florets before cooking. If I could only have one Appliance it would be this one.

good cheap rice cooker, measuring cup came cracked though
It's a rice cooker. It's does its job, and I like it because it has a stainless steel pot instead of nonstick. The steamers great for veggies too. When I use it, I sometimes get this weird smell like something is burning and the pot got heat tint after one use (this is just a cosmetic issue though). The only real complaint I have is that the measuring cup had a crack in it so I can't really use it.

Perfect rice cooker, easy to use and reliable
This rice cooker works perfectly and cooks rice evenly every time. The capacity is great for both small and family-sized portions. It’s very simple to use and easy to clean, which makes it convenient for daily cooking. The design is compact but sturdy, and the quality feels durable. I also like that the rice comes out fluffy and never sticks to the pot. Excellent product and totally worth it!

Failed Upgrade - worse than the cheaper model
I have had an aroma rice cooker of this size for a few years now. It's actually the perfect size for a person like me - I eat rice most days, often for just myself or for 2-3 people. My cheapo one started giving inconsistent quality and I was concerned that the heating element was going out or one of the wires was getting old.I could have just bought another cheapo, but this rice cooker looked so much nicer. No non-stick coating to flake off, shiny and sleek looking. Even though it cost more than twice as much, I sprung for the stainless steel model.**That was a MISTAKE!** The rice always BURNS and sticks to the bottom of the pot!!! I have been using this style of automatic rice cooker since I was a little girl and I have NEVER seen rice burn like this. I tried all the tricks - greasing the bottom with oil or butter, more water, taking the rice pot out the second it clicked from "cook" to "warm" - it didn't matter. Every time we went to serve the rice, we would lose a good half inch, and scrubbing it is a total nightmare.I assumed that the unit was running too hot. But I inserted my old cheapo nonstick rice pot and magically, the next time I made rice, there was NO STICKING, NO BURNING! It came out perfectly fluffy and the pot was just as easy to clean as always. I can even let the pot run on keep warm for a bit before I return to the kitchen and serve it up.The main reason I want a rice pot are for convenience and to allow my children to make rice without my help. If I have to babysit the pot and it STILL burns, I would do better to just use a regular pot on the stove. Then at least it won't make a mess or become a fire hazard.Do yourself a favor and keep looking. If others have had better luck, then Aroma is producing an inferior product with inconsistent quality. My experience makes me want to go with a different brand next time. I'm so frustrated at the money I wasted.

Stainless LOVE!
This Rice Cooker is perfect for one or more (I have made enough for 6 people at ounce). This set not only allows for steaming rice but a steaming basket and serving utensil is included. This product allows for quick and easy meal preperation. I place my rice in the cooker, add my fish and vegetables in the steamer basket. Just like that, my entire meal is ready in a short time.I love this Rice Cooker so much that I purchased one for my parents. This makes for easy meal preperation for us all and easy cleanup.I prefer to hand wash my cooker, steamer basket and lid. I do place the serving utensil in the dishasher.
