I hate the idea of using crude oil products like nylon to soak in water for your brew then drink. I drink enough plastic bottles all ready this is great alternative to nylon if your trying to reduce your hydrocarbon intake.

This is a nut milk bag. It's much too fine for straining fruit like blackberries.

First of all, this bag is huge. It very easily fit in my 5 gallon pot with plenty of room left over. It could have fit in a much larger pot as well. It simplified for me the process of filtering out the wort from the mash and having that level of filtration kept everything a little clearer and cleaner. When the boil was done I was able to squeeze the bag to really extract as much of the wort as possible and it helped me maximize the flavor I was getting. It was a piece of cake to let it all drain out the bottom of the bag simply by lifting the bag out of the boiling pot. Although I did not use the second bag to reline the pot when it was time to add the hops, I might do that next time as a way to help filter those out. For cleaning I just rinsed it in the sink and then put it in the laundry. It can be sterilized before use just like any other brewing equipment. It doesn't need to be as big as it is but the extra size certainly does mean that it will fit in basically any pot that will fit on your stove.

We have several different size containers that we use for brewing and are thrilled that these bags will fit them all. l actually used it for straining apple cider and yea, the cider was awesome. The gunk stayed in the bag. We rinsed it out and tossed it in the washing machine. The cycle ran for 30 minutes and the bag was perfectly clean and ready for the next use. I am happy that the bag did not fall apart during the spin cycle.

These brew bags are really nice and very durable. They are easy to use and they are very thick. I have been using these brew bags to make mash. They are really good at separating the corn and other solids. These are easily reusable as well. I have used one of these bags many times. I would highly recommend these brew bags for any home brewer.

Bag worked great to contain all the grain, but the bag itself retained too much water once I pulled it from the kettle. Made for a BIG mess of wort being spilled all over the place while trying to squeeze it.
