How remove strong unpleasant chemical smell ? I've washed them, and still there.

Keep a spray bottle handy with 50/50 white vinegar-water. Clean windows, countertops, showers, vegetables, silicone mats, etc. Great for glass stovetops, cleans pesticides off vegetables-fruit-etc. Any chemical smell with new silicone products should dissipate rapidly, but place them in the sink and spray with the 50/50 mix, let sit, then rinse.

I did not know what safegrabs are but I can tell you that these are a great product. They do what they say they do and are of good quality.

How thick are these..are they equal to original safe grabs?

I don't know about original safe grabs, but these are the thickness of about four sheets of paper...in other words, very thin. I just leave mine in the microwave and put whatever I am heating on it. It is of course not needed for a coffee cup, but is great for anything else, plate, container, or even a small prep cup.
