I like these binoculars very much. I have used them mostly for astronomical viewing since they arrived. Chromatic aberration is, to my eye, quite small. Some of the other reviews seemed to be complaining about it, so perhaps with the relatively inexpensive price point of these glasses, one loses consistency in the quality control process (kind of hard to believe for a Japanese optics company). The eyecups for the binos are attached, and the depth to the surface of the eyepiece is adjustable by turning the eyecup. This was weird for me at first, but now I like it. I thought there were problems with collimation, because I could not get images to align. Then I realized that one eyecup was at the maximum distance from the eyepiece, and the other was at minimum. The eyecups can get out of sync easily, and now it is a habitual practice to make sure they are properly adjusted before looking through the eyepieces. Light transmission is really good, and if you like to look at the crescent moon on a clear night, you will like the magnification and detail that these will bring out. The Pleiades cluster fits into the field of view, and if you are far enough away from sodium and mercury lamps and seeing is good, you might even make out some of the fainter aspects. The Orion nebula is clearly visible, even on light polluted and moonlit nights, and on darker nights Andromeda can be seen. I was able to make out the rings on Saturn, but that was only because I knew I was looking at Saturn. Saturn is clearly Saturn through a pair of 25x100 StarMaster binos, and you can actually resolve Saturn into a disk with these 16x50s, but it is a very tiny disk with a very barely visible protrusion on each side (that's the rings). I have a love-hate relationship with the tripod adapter that came with the binos. If you use a video pan head, which is - in my opinion of course - the best way to do binocular stargazing, the adapter places the binos very close to the mount surface of the pan head, and you may not be able to bring the optical tubes into alignment with your pupils. Using a smaller head for the tripod alleviates this problem, but there would be NO problems if the adapter placed the binos 1 or 2 cm higher. On the other hand, the adapter secures these binoculars, and all of the other tripod adaptable binos I have, excellently, and they don't move once secured. For the price, these binos are top-notch. Maybe I just lucked out and got a great pair, but judging by the number of 5 star reviews already here, I would say you don't have to be that lucky.

Die Fernglasreihe Action EX von Nikon ist wirklich gut. POSITIV Sehr scharfes, helles Bild. Gute Ergonomie.

The Nikon 16x50 is a superb high magnification, robust and simple to use pair of binoculars. True value for money.

Used a couple of times, once to watch a coastal rowing competition and then to view the moon and Jupiter (small dot and 4 small dots for moons).in both ircumstances worked very well, Although I did use a monopod. They are slightly heavy but not overly so and build quality seems excellent .good clear images
