Are these worth buying

Oh for sure! I like to use them to color, and they have an effect like no other. I am not one to encourage spending money but these are defiantly worth it.

Are the sparkle pop pens the same as the hybrid dual metallic pens? The ink looks the same; the barrels just look different.

They are exactly the same. The "metallic' is really more of a bright glitter. The tips are the same as well-both 1.0mm lines, which makes them great for coloring. I have had both pens, and they seem to last about the same time--but I can't say for sure if the two pen lines have the same amount of ink in them. The best thing about the dual pens is that the slim size makes it easier to fit into the average pencil case or roll (the kind with the elastic to hold the pen/pencil). They seem to be slightly skinnier than the Gelly Roll pens.
