I bought this because I wanted a straightforward OBD2 scanner that could read codes, clear codes, and show live data without needing a subscription or some overly complicated app setup. The FOXWELL NT301 does exactly what I needed. It is easy to use, the screen is readable, and it gives enough information to help diagnose check engine lights and basic drivability issues. The live data feature is especially useful because sometimes a code by itself does not tell the whole story. Being able to look at what the sensors are actually doing makes troubleshooting a lot easier. It is not a full professional shop scan tool, but it is not trying to be. For home mechanics, truck owners, DIY repairs, and general vehicle maintenance, it is a very useful tool to keep around. Simple, practical, and worth having in the garage or vehicle. It can save a lot of guessing, and guessing is usually how parts stores sell unnecessary sensors.

The Foxwell NT301 OBD2 scanner works exactly as intended. It plugged in easily, powered right up, and had no problem reading and clearing basic trouble codes. For straightforward diagnostics, it does what it’s supposed to do without any drama. That said, I’ll admit I was a little underwhelmed by the overall feature set. I think my expectations were probably a bit higher than what this model is really designed for. It covers the fundamentals very well — reading codes, clearing them, and showing some live data — but it’s not a deep-dive, advanced diagnostic tool. In the end, I decided to keep it because it handles the basics reliably, and that’s ultimately what I need most of the time. I wouldn’t recommend against it at all. I’d just suggest that anyone considering it take a close look at the listed features to make sure it matches what you’re expecting. In my case, the slight disappointment was likely more about my assumptions than the product itself.

Amazing and simple

My son has the same unit that I purchased, and I’ve borrowed his so often that I ordered one for myself. But before I did, I watched a YouTube channel called Project Farm. If you’re not familiar with him, he buys different items and compares them. He doesn’t take advertisements or free items; he pays for everything he tests and purchases them from retail sites just like you and me. According to his tests, the Foxwell NT301 has more options and capabilities than all the others he tested, and at a better price. The Foxwell NT301 works on all vehicles and can be updated every year for the latest model, so it will work on any car you have now and in the future. The screen is large, color, and easy to see; you can clear codes, read codes, check oxygen sensors, and see live tests as you drive. It’s an all-around great unit at a fantastic price that saves you from paying big money at your local dealership.

Great value! Easy to learn how to use and works great! After looking at reviews and other choices, glad I bought this product. Anyone can use it and save money by doing it yourself.

This is a very handy tool to diagnose your problem. I tried it and it worked perfectly. I was able to fix the problem myself without having to pay a fortune to a repair shop. I love it.

The device connects quickly and the instructions are pretty straight forward. It does have a bright display and scans quickly. The reason I’m giving it 3 stars is that it doesn’t have my truck’s manufacturer (Ram). They have Chrysler (same family), but I don’t know if the code designations are the same. When I manually type in the code my truck is displaying (verified the code is correct through a quick Google search), the only thing the scanner says is “refer to vehicle’s manual!”. Well, doy… what would I need the scanner for then?? I don’t know if it is because Chrysler (proper) uses different codes than Ram or not, but that isn’t helpful at all.. Next thing: there is a code change/erase that is supposed to solve the issue I am having, but based on everything I have tinkered with through the scanner, I do not believe the scanner has the ability to erase or change codes. I obviously can’t verify that since it couldn’t even give me the proper code read for my truck in the first place. Overall the scanner is neat, seems functional enough, and is pretty fast as far as scanning goes. But this is really just a glorified standard/basic/simple ODB scanner and I think you can probably get by with something cheaper that can use you phone and an app. I have one of the “simple” ODB scanners as well, and it does the exact same thing as this one, just a couple seconds slower. I wouldn’t recommend this if you are just doing basic scanning/tracking/live data. A cheaper and simpler scanner that connects to your phone will do the exact same thing.

全部英語です。仮に日本語対応させたところでsensorがセンサーとカタカナ表記になるだけですし(笑) エラーコードの内容も表示されますがメーカーによってはコード番号が異なる可能性があるので 最低限ネットで検索するだけのスキルは必要です。 取説は紙媒体及びCD-ROMにPDFで収録されていますが、メーカーHPからもDLできます。 YouTubeに使用方法も上がってますね。 同梱のCD-ROMからファームウェアの更新も出来ます。 (2017/08/06の最新版が2017/0703リリースVer2.10) 陸送屋で中古車を運んでいた時はほとんどの輸入車が何かしらの警告灯点きっぱなしになってましたので、 オーナーさんやユーザー車検代行業者さんなどは役に立つんじゃないでしょうか。 2017年2月から警告灯点いてる車は車検通してくれなくなりましたしね(*'ω`*)
