Q: Hubby has thin neck. Do these fit close to neck?

For me these were just right around my neck, not too close and not too loose. I am a perfect 40R (i.e. a 15 1/2 around the neck). Keep in mind, I did take a size larger (L) as I knew they would shrink in the dryer. Hope that helps.
