Yes. The rules for this game follow many of the most common ways to play. But, you can use our cards to play with any house rules you like. For this game Red 3s are good and are worth 100 points if played. Black 3s are bad and you want to discard them like you currently discard red.

Do these cards have jesters and old maids like the original hand and foot?

No. It does have 300+ red cards and 330- black cards. No jokers or old maids.

How to you mark a pile “clean” and “dirty”? With regular cards we mark the pile with a red card for clean a black card for dirty.

Great question! When you close your dirty book you simply put a wild card on the bottom and turn it so it sticks out the side or top. See the video for an example.

Is this the same type of game that the old hand and foot was?

There are several versions of Hand and Foot all close but with small differences. This is easy because the cards are made for the game specifically and comes with easy printed rules. The values are printed on the cards making scoring easy. How you play and the rules you follow are up to you.

Great game - the rules require some local detail though

This is a great game - especially when we play teams. It is a variation of a game played with regular decks, however the purpose-built decks make it easier to play. As we found out the rules for play just get you started, and most people wind up annotating with local rules to fill the many opportunities for misinterpretation or un-covered situations. We needed to commit those 'extra' rules to writing and putting then in our box to insure bad memory didn't ruin a card evening.

This pack is so nice to play hand and foot with since the points are printed right on them and you, wilds are marked as well, along with the bonus and negative cards. We learned to play hand and foot with regular cards but prefer to use these. Highly recommend
