I have used it as a cream you rub into the scalp & it helps with my itchy scalp.

Doesn't sound like it! My bottle matches the ingredients listed on Amazon. But I have not bought a new jar in a while, so maybe the formula updated?

yes, similar to vaseline, but I find when I put it in my hair it goes on smooth, almost melting in and really nourishes my hair, it does not weigh it down or cause it be too greasy. I do also have very dry, thick hair, so these kinds of products work great for me!
