It’s always nice when you receive exactly what you hoped you’d ordered on Amazon. We all know it can be a bit of a gamble, even after combing through thousands of reviews. I was in search of a cute light for my garden that works and looks like the photo description. And so I took a gamble and ordered this solar light, and I’m pleased to report that the gamble paid off! First, this light is large! The description says so, and I underestimated it. It came in a fairly large box and I thought that surely a mistake had been made. Nope! It was the lantern, carefully nestled in its packaging and completely undamaged. It looks perfect on the shepherd’s hook on the pole for my garden flag, but I was still surprised that it wasn’t a teeny tiny little thing. Secondly, it works! It works really well. I have it under a shade tree, and even with only a few hours of direct sunlight, this light shines brightly all night long starting at dusk. It casts a really pretty glow through the pattern of the cut out shapes in the lantern, and the design projects onto the ground and anything in close proximity. The inside is a bronze-ish color and the outside is a teal blue. It makes a really lovely effect when the light is on. I used a twist tie to secure it to the shepherd’s hook, only because the lantern isn’t terribly heavy and I don’t want it whisked away in a strong storm. To conclude, I am completely happy with my purchase of this solar lantern. It’s as good, if not better, than described. If you’re reading this, give it a shot, you will not be disappointed!

This is so beautiful. We enjoy seeing it lite up on a pedestal on our balcony. Thinking of getting another one to hang in a corner. Very nice, does not disappoint.

I'll update this after half a year or so, but right out of the box this lantern is absolutely fabulous, throws intricate light patterns perfectly, in a broad circle, and lasts through the entire night, even with the charge it arrived with. It's more light than I had expected, and just what I had hoped for. I bought it to hang in my vegetable garden among the herbs and medicinals, to light the path where I'll be having a small ashes scattering/tree planting ceremony, and it pleases me well for that. If I need to scurry out to snip some herbs right quick while making dinner after dark it's enough light to serve that purpose. Had I purchased it as a gift, I wouldn't have been disappointed or embarrassed. It's ample sized and the paint (I presume powder coating) is a nice deep teal with a black glaze brushed/sponged/sprayed over it, (looks sponged) giving it an almost weathered copper look. It arrived quickly and well packaged. Hope it holds up, it's going to live outside - I'll let you know!

I'm in the process of landscaping my balcony to function as an herb garden and a small "adventure space" for my two cats. This light was one of my initial forays into scoping out lighting options. To start, it's stunning during the night, producing clear, almost calligraphic patterns across a variety of surfaces. It won't "light up" the area, but the patterns it scatters offer high contrast and visual impact. Very attractive at night. Unfortunately, this doesn't hold up during the day, where the patterns engraved onto its surfaced are only identifiable up close. Otherwise, it appears as kind of a dull metal globe with little distinguishable features. Of course, this is subjective, but my take is that daytime appearance can be improved by spicing up the surface with different patterns and colors (I might consider doing this myself since the surface is already "primed" to go). This can go a long way toward improving its daytime appeal, since the lamp already looks great at night. There are other issues with its weight and size. Its light weight belies its somewhat bulky, medium size, and that's actually not a good thing. As a balcony decoration, the bulky medium size limits where I can place it. Since I can't balance it on my planter box railings, that means I have to either hang it or place it on my wider balcony rails. But because it's so light, I have concerns about a stray gust blowing it off my balcony. Hanging it is not the best option, because it needs to be near as many surfaces as possible (such as the ground) to really showcase its patterns. The limited placement options are a further concern with needing to ensure this receives adequate sunlight throughout the day to charge for nighttime lighting. So be wary if your use case is similar to mine. Back to more positive notes - the solar battery is long lasting. I've placed the lamp on the northwestern corner of my balcony (which is also the northwestern corner of my apartment building), and it receives direct sunlight from 2pm onwards. Sunset around this time of year (mid-July) occurs around 8pm. I check on my balcony 9am and often around 12-1am, and I've only ever seen this light going strong, so I've had zero issues with night-to-night longevity. This is an overall recommend with the caveats I noted above. Great at night, less so during the day, with placement and size issues inherent with its light weight and how it needs nearby surfaces to showcase its patterns. A great "one-of" light for my apartment balcony.

It's perfect for the look i was going for. Repurposed some old doors going to the burn pile and it looks great with this solar lamp. It lights up well and has a beautiful effect! I love it!

The light itself is beautiful and love the pattern. However, I'm trying to get it to light up BRIGHTLY as shown in the picture, and also to STAY LIT into the night. I live in Colorado with plenty of sun. Maybe I need a bigger solar cell?

OMG. Very impressive lanterns. Metal makes these durable. Size is larger than grapefruit but smaller than canolope. Great size. Brass color great. Light is bright inside. So it should illuminate nicely on my porch. Like the round orb effect. Going to tie down to my porch railing to prevent being knocked over & keep from being moved by strong winds even though they do have some weight to them, they aren’t heavy. Easy to access on off switch. I will definitely watch this store for more products. This style has become my favorite solar lights.
