Q: This says for 5 years and older. Could a smart 4yo enjoy it?

It is a great game. You can get the name now, and try to play it with your four year old....if it does not go, just try again in a few months.

Q: What are the heights of the gobblers, not including the tufts of hair?

Small ones : about 3 cm Medium ones : about 5 cm Large ones: about 7 cm

Q: Is this the original wooden game? (We own this game and have bought it as gifts in the past, but recently we've received a plastic version) :(

The original version was made in wood, but the new one is in plastic. I think the price is cheaper now. I have not tested the new version so I don't know if it's resistant. However one od my wooden gobbler cracked because the children used it with a lot of enthusiam... I hope my answer will hel you !

Q: What's the difference between model 103 & 105 other than color? Is 1 plastic and 1 wood?

Model 103 is wood, all pieces are wooden. I don't think the game play is any different.
