Excellent value
Large, clear image. Includes handy inside cover for optical components. A common 1" hole saw makes the installation quick and easy. Attractive solid brass construction.

Great Security Peephole
The media could not be loaded. Purchased 3 of these to replace and/or add a new install. They are solidly built, the image quality is definitely crisp and not blurry, wide Angle of view, great purchase! you will not be disappointed. I purchased the STORMCUBE brand 28mm Forstner drill bit on Amazon, also an essential buy and this made for a precise installation!

This thing is HUGE
Well built. And works well. Heavy duty. Great view angle. Needs big hole in the door . I recommend using at least blue thread locker. A micro drop of it. You know just in case someone gets a bright idea to unscrew it. And then using wire and huge hole someone could try using wire to get to your locks. Depends on your door really. Just in case use some thread locker .Price was great. Build and finish are excellent. Highly recommend if your door is thick enough. Also if you don’t mind a big hole.* hole saw and a small file are highly recommended.Install took less then 10 min for me.With spectacular results.Wife wondered why I took so many years to get it. It is a great upgrade for the money. In her own words.

Solid viewer with clear optics
This viewer is sturdy and was relatively easy to install but you need to know what you're doing. It is important that the mounting hole drilled be orthogonal to the plane of the door surface for the viewer to seat flush. I was a little off and had to wallow out the hole to get a flush seat on the outside of the door. The viewing side of the viewer is what you screw down to mount the viewer. It was a little difficult to get the viewer mounted tightly because there is nothing to help you to tighten down the back of the viewer. It was not clear what angle to mount the "swing to open" back side of the viewer - should it be mounted with the handle at the top or the bottom of the viewer? It was not clear what height above the floor was best to mount the viewer. I mounted it at eye height for my wife who is short (5' 11"). There were no mounting instructions that helped clarify these mounting issues for the do-it-yourselfer. I mounted the handle of the viewer at the top and with time this loosened up and wouldn't stay closed. Adding some lock-tite fixed this problem but it would have been best if I had mounted the viewer with the handle at the bottom instead of the top..

Excellent peephole!
We live in an apartment. This "fisheye" peephole gives us an excellent view of anyone outside our door! But it did take a "maintenance man" with a LARGE drill bit to install it. Other than that, he said it was easy to do. Meanwhile, I have glaucoma-- so I do appreciate being able to see out our door so much more clearly! And we also like that it has a little "privacy door" on the inside (for when it isn't being used). I'll also add that it looks lovely in the gold color. It's very well made. Yes, an excellent product!

Huge. Nice quality. Good view.
Bought to put in door to garage since we use it as primary entrance, and kids had habit of opening door without knowing who was knocking. This thing is huge and gives excellent, wide view. Pivoting cover ensures people can't tell if the lights are on inside.I needed to use step drill to create the hole and widen it beyond the drill diameter, as my hole drill was not made for cutting steel door.Kids love the novelty of it. They like to just check it. Definitely can clearly identify who is on the other side.Very happy with this purchase.

Real nice quality part with good optics
After covering my other windows next to the door with frosted glass window film for privacy, I needed a way to see out. So I went looking for a peephole to get a view of who could be at the door.Upon searching for peepholes on Amazon, there’s just so many cheap crappy options listed first! This one may cost a few more bucks and does require you to buy tools if you don’t have but it’s so nice.Installation was a breeze with an Amazon recommended 28mm forstner bit. I have a metal foam core door, so I got the metal cutting bit. Make sure you get the right bit for your door material! Once the hole was cut, you just screw the two ends together. Easy! The optics on this thing are fantastic for a peephole!! I’m not saying it’s perfect because there is plenty fringing around objects but this is a $15 lens we’re talking about here. You have to temper some expectations. For the price, you get a large clear view outside your door. It looks a bit better in person with clarity than what you see through the photos here.I did find that while you have a clear view outside day and night, even without the cover down, I can’t see back inside! You can still flip down the cover if it makes you feel better though.Overall. The cost is higher than the cheapest available peepholes here but you’ll be happy you spent the extra few bucks to get something of better quality that should last. If mine doesn’t last, I will be sure to update the review.

So big I can see into the future
Since no one had a list of tools needed1. Impact drill2. Big drill bit3. Diablo speedemon wood drill bit 1 1/8 inch (29mm)Took me 5 mins to measure, drill and install. I did mine from the inside and then sanded down any wood bits from the outside. Make sure to have extra paint on hand if your door is painted. I spent about 7 dollars for the wood drill bit to make a large enough hole. Used the 29mm and it worked perfectly. :)
