Civilized Coffee Instant Assam Black Tea Powder, 8 oz

it takes a small amount to make a 16oz iced tea, the taste is just as good as the nestea which has been off the market for more than 4 years, it is fine ground which means it would be very easy to spill use caution when measuring start with a 1/4 teaspoon, it took 1/2 teaspoon to make a fantastic 16 or 18 oz serving. Highly recc. for those without electricity or gas to make a nice serving of delicious tea, great for camping or outings.

I was in the market for finding some things to be able to make my own chai tea concentrate and then I decided to see if I could find the Assam black tea in like a instant or something close so if I don't want to wait for my other one to brew I can use this. It works really well you can use it in either hot water or do it as cold brew similar to that of the Lipton instant iced tea. One of the benefits that I found with this particular instant tea is that no matter how much I ended up putting in there you never get that distinctive better tanning taste like you would if you over brewed a black tea. So I will Brew some of my existing tea and then I will add actually some of this instant one to beef up my concentrate and then use my spice blends that I purchased from here to make my concentrate. It works beautifully it's simple and easy highly recommended

Overall, I like the product. Good tea taste, dissolves cleanly without residue. There are some things folks should know before going into it though. This a black tea powder, but (to me) it has a distinct "coffee" taste to it. It's more of an aftertaste, but it's definitely there. I can mask it with a little cream or a little extra sugar, so it's no big deal. But I, for one, can't stand coffee. :) No spoons are included in the package. YMMV, but I already have a 1/4 tsp measure from another product, so no big deal for me. I have not tested this in a cold drink, so I can't speak to how well it dissolves there. It works great in hot water though. A little goes a LONG way. I typically drink a 20oz cup of tea when I do and according to the instructions, you use a 1/4 tsp per 8 ounces. I tried with 1/2 tsp in my cup and WOW was the coffee taste strong. In addition, the tea itself is super dark; almost like coffee. Assam is typically a strong tea, so this wasn't too surprising. The fact that so little of the powder makes such a strong brew impressed me. Unfortunately, the coffee taste does not. :( I backed down to 1/4 tsp per my 20 oz cup and it's basically the same as my loose tea brews, so I'm good with it. Finally, this is an *incredibly* fine powder. Like, makeup-level fine. It sticks to EVERYTHING and stains clothing easily. You have been warned...

This is brilliant! Delicious tea without The mess of tea bags. Can make as strong as you prefer. I am hooked!!!

This finely powdered tea mix has good flavor, and the package lasts a long time. However, when making iced tea directly with cold water, it does not dissolve well. Package states 1/4tps per 8oz of water. I'm using 1/4tsp per 12oz of water and even with vigorous stirring, there are still clumps and fines floating in the glass.

Excellent product that tastes great. I know it is expensive but when the instructions say to use 1/4 of a teaspoon per 8oz of water they really mean it. This jar will last a long time. The wide mouth container allows you take out exactly what you want. So glad to have found it as the instant tea manufacturers have switch to premade iced tea shelf stable gallons. I prefer the ability to make tea exactly as I like it. I want to order the oolong tea next.

Tastes like the others that cost more, not perfect on flavor tastes alittle like a leaf but they all do. Its easier than brewing it, a trade off. Also put it in a container with a lid and shake it for a bit and let it sit and it dissolves much better.
