Very useful
This is my first Loupe, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I also use it to look at my fountain pen nibs. The Good: Magnifies quite a bit. Gives me a clear image of the tip of a nib. I can see if the nib has any problems that I can correct. The light is very helpful. The Bad. Not much really. Perhaps not the most beautiful design I've seen, but I was looking for price and function. If I have to complain about something it would be that the LED is too bright for the shiny metal I look at. Not really a defect, just an observation. A dimmable light would make it much nicer. Its a simple magnifier. It lets me do what I need to. Very functional, it's inexpensive, solid and well made. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Love this loupe! Not just for Jewelers.
This Loupe is awesome. I purchased it for my 6 year old because he's really into science, exploration and how things are made. I had a photography loupe when I was a kid and I remember investigating everything and learning how things were made like seeing CMYK dots that are printed in my book pages... I'm a graphic designer now so it had a long lasting effect on me. I wanted my son to have that same experience, especially after he was asking a lot of questions about what he can't see on the surface. He takes it everywhere and looks at rocks to see the "crystals", the carpet, toys, printed paper, leaves, bugs, everything. He's had it for a week and he's still interested in it, usually he goes through toys quickly. In fact, he just told me if he had show and tell at school he would bring his loupe so all the kids could look at the carpet. The led light on it is very bright. This thing is fun for the whole family! It's not just a jewelers loupe, it's better than a magnifying glass and more convenient then a microscope fit's right in a kids pocket, comes in a cool little case and looks like a very scientific gadget. I recommend this to anyone. It's kind of cute too that one of his favorite movies is Horton Hears a Who so I like to tell him maybe he'll find a tiny world on a spot! If this one breaks or gets lost I won't hesitate to order a new one.

Easily usable affordable handy magnifying glass
The item itself is constructed well but that little metal case covering that you can move to swivel always falls off. I don't even care about that thing at all myself so save yourself the time because it's never put on tight enough and it always comes off and I do like the little carrying case that comes with it. I like that I can just get regular old watch batteries for this thing usually. But that little metal swivel case is never tight enough it always comes off so I always just take the thing off because I know it's going to fall off anyway. Other than that just item really works. The LED light is very bright in here. These things really do work well and I'm a low vision person. I just think the world of this item and it's very affordable. There's one thing I really like about this item is its affordability. I've lost to in the past couple of weeks or months maybe but I know I can just buy replacement. I probably just put it down somewhere and can't find it now but keeps talking these up because I'll lose plenty more of them and I'll just keep buying them from you because you always have them.

Perfect for most anything! Would recommend. Read review!
Bought this to aid with small things such as examining coins, working on watches, etc. The LEDs are super bright! This is fantastic because they really light up what your looking at. And also they seem to be exactly aimed at the center of the lens you're using!!! This is great because the light is focused in one spot rather than spread out. Perfect for looking at a specific detail. I've read some reviews saying that the 60x is useless. I totally disagree. First off, you use this almost like a monocle where you hold the item close to your eye. On any magnifying lens there is a "sweet spot" where you can see the best magnification. This requires you to be a specific distance from the object you want to examine. This is the focal point. On the 30x, it's great for 99% of things. The focal point is large enough that you don't have to hold the item too close. If you want to get more power, the 60x works fine but does require you to have a steady hand and have the object close to you. Yes, the focal point is narrow but worth the effort - you'll see! If you wear glasses, this might pose a problem. Also, if you are far sighted, this can also pose a problem. If you have normal vision, or even corrected vision with use of contact lenses, then you shouldn't have a problem. FYI - You will encounter issue this with any small hand held magnifying device. So personally I wouldn't hold it against this unit. This 60x worked great for me. Used properly, you see fantastic details and you won't regret this purchase! Also, the unit is small. Some reviewers are not pleased with this. But then again, you don't want to be holding a large device while you're trying to examine something small - do you? This is NOT your grandma's giant magnifying glass! The magnifier also appears to be very well built, with metal a a few plastic parts, but definitely solid. I can't believe how inexpensive this is. Do yourself a favor, and get this one. Totally worth every penny. So glad I bought it.
