Says waterproof...can I use underwater attached to my boat trailer so it lights up the trailer under water so I can it when docking at night?

Other answer is wrong. Waterproof should be able to submerge water resistant cannot be submerged. In order to be waterproof it must be ip69 i believe this is ip65 which would not be submergible

Do we have to plug it or is it battery operated?

You could power it with a 12v battery (as from a car), but normally you would power it with a small 12v transformer with at least 200 ma capacity and that is purchased separately.

Are these lights dimmable?

Sure you can lower the voltage to dim them! It's just that it's not a linear relationship between voltage and brightness. The light shuts off at about 6-7V, not 0V. The hard part for non-electrical people is how to make such a circuit. The better way to dim them is to use a pulse-width modulator (PWM) to rapidly turn the lights on and off, which your eye sees as being dimmer.
