Loki: Where Mischief Lies (Marvel Rebels & Renegades)

Had this book on pre-order for months and was far from disappointed when it finally arrived. With a very pretty cover and jagged pages, at first appearance the book is very inviting. I love the rusticity of the unfinished look it is aiming for. This story itself is strong and gripping right of the bat. Not too over complicated, but some satisfying twists and interesting plot developments. Couldn't put it down and finished in one sitting. It is a beautiful portrayal of a beloved character, encompassing everything fans have desired for him. Wonderfully fulfilling, emotional and exciting. Though the ending is slightly weak and opens up a potential timeline error (if you regard this story in continuity with Loki's story in the MCU), but is easily overlooked when considering the fan service this book provides. Very open-minded and contemporary despite the time which the story is set, and is engaging from the start with some very well written and easily enjoyable characters. This book is everything a Loki fan would want regarding his history, development and purpose as a character. Honestly, was slightly overwhelmed by how much i enjoyed this book. It made me fall even more in love with an already adored character. Massive thanks to the author.

This is a wonderfully written Loki novel, as anyone would expect from the author Mackenzi Lee who excels on LGBTQ+ fiction. It's a vivacious and colourful journey with the most frustrating and loveable trickster of all! The pages are quite obviously a special razor-cut edition and intended to add to the chaotic theme surrounding the main character, the literal God of Chaos with a lovely parchment thickness to them. Minus the book-cover, the main book is a bright green with yellow embossed lettering. The Loki in this novel is more based in comic-centric history if you're a Marvel-626 fan so don't expect MCU Loki to be grumping about in a corner. Get this book if you're a Loki fan, don't miss out!

Cant pass comment on the content as it's been bought for my daughter's Christmas present. She loves Loki so she will love this book. Pleased with my purchase.

The book itself I am very happy with however the paper cover was badly damaged and had to be removed before being gifted. Overall very happy but a little disappointed.

It came early in good shape

A backstory for Loki? this sounds like everything I’ve ever needed in my life, but after much hype it ended up being just okay. I thoroughly enjoyed the authors depiction of the Marvel characters. Loki still has his snark, trickery and all the qualities that make him loveable. Part one grabbed my attention, but as we moved onto part two the story started to lose its spark and nothing really happened. Nearer the end the author started throwing in a bunch of random plot twists and it just felt really cheap to me sadly. Still enjoyed it for what it was but overall this was an unimaginative book and the potential wasn’t met.

Long before the events of the Marvel movies, Loki finds himself on Earth carrying out a mission for Odin – people are being killed, seemingly by magic, and Loki must determine who is to blame. Loki felt very out of character most of the time, being a terrible liar who is excluded from negotiations with other realms because he’s so bad at it. This is Loki the Silver-Tongue, the manipulative trickster, the god of lies! Thor too is portrayed very differently to his film appearances. It’s established in the movies that young Thor was an impetuous, rebellious hot-head, yet here he’s a simpering goody-two-shoes who’s constantly lecturing Loki about not breaking rules. There are other inconsistencies too, particularly regarding how magic works (or doesn’t) on Earth. Supposedly magic is very hard to use on Earth, and will eventually drain away from sorcerers altogether. There’s never any hint of this being an issue in the movies, in which Loki’s magic works perfectly well on Earth, as does that of Earth-based magic users like Doctor Strange. The romantic sub-plot was so cliched it was cringeworthy, there was some missing punctuation, and “grizzly” was used when “grisly” was meant. Frankly, I’m amazed someone was paid actual money to write this, and I resent having paid to read it. I’ve read better fan-fiction online for free.

最初は不良品だと思いましたが、どうやら小口の部分のみのアンカット本です。(天地は綺麗です) マーベルの映画にハマっている家族のリクエストで購入しました。楽しんでいるみたいです。

O livro chegou em perfeito estado, sem erros de impressão ou amassados! A história é ótima e a leitura me satisfez!

Wie schon gesagt, ist dieses Hardcover Buch von sehr hoher Qualität. Das Papiercover hat eine Gummiartige Beschichtung, einen Glanzeffekt für das Artwork und der Titel ist Hervorgehoben. Das Buch selber ist in einem Einfachen Grün gehalten wobei der Titel sich nur auf dem Buchrücken in Gelb befindet. Die jeweiligen Endseiten sind Schwarz und liefern damit einen schönen Kontrast. Dieses Hardcover wurde auch wirklich gebunden anstatt nur wie bei einem Taschen Buch nur geklebt zu werden( es gibt Heutzutage sehr viele Hardcover, welche nur ein Taschenbuch sind, auf das ein Hardcover geklebt wurde, hier in Bild 5 ein Vergleich mit einem Warrior Cats Buch). Auch schön ist der unebene Schnitt der Seiten, welche den Look vervollständigen. Leider kam ich noch nicht dazu, das Buch Zu lesen, kann also nichts zu der Story selbst sagen

Wat een lef dat ze dit boek zo durven te leveren! De bladzijdes zijn zo slecht gesneden dat je het gewoon niet op je boekenplank wil zetten. Wat belachelijk!!!

The story is best..! I love loki ..! (Both from mcu as well as marvel comics..! So seeing his journey through his teenage life was worth my time..! The way he is looked down upon his own people against thor.., loki makes a pretty good job abt making his efforts to chnge people’s point of view..! The God pf Mischeif and the trickster got are very well names for loki ..! Must read it .! I bow to Macqenzi Lee for this beautiful potrayal and journey of my fav trickster❤️
