Can the camera be run as live stream to one monitor without a dvr? not interested in recording ability, just live picture.

Short answer, no, but a compatible DVR will supply the live feed to your monitor, either directly from its VGA and/or HDMI port, or over a network and the internet with an assortment of remote viewing software apps likely to be included with the DVR. This camera supports 3 or 4 different protocols but ideally get a DVR that supports the camera's 1080p mode. If you don’t care about recording and plan on only one camera, you can get a 4 port DVR that supports 1080p for around $100 and you don’t need to install a hard drive in it. There may be more exotic solutions that would allow you to skip the DVR but they are likely to be more expensive and hard to source.

Why does it not work on my NVR?

The answer is simple if u see the connection of the camera u bought that’s a BNC connection is a lot different from the NVR connection that is using and RJ45 connection. That’s why it does fits on the POE switch.

2 of the HD cameras has a menu showing up on the monitor and it wont let me exit out of it. Is there a certain way to remove the menu?
