Light weight. I used to have one many years ago and was looking for the same one. It is the same but more modern. Very happy with my purchase. I am a senior woman 79 yrs old and light weight is recommended for seniors.

Excellent Vacuum Without Breaking The Bank!
I have had this vacuum for about 6 months. The first time I used it was in my old apartment that had not been cleaned for at least 1-1/2 years by a carpet cleaning crew before I moved in. I vacuumed using a $50 vacuum that had a bag and rolled along behind the hose. I thought my carpets were mostly clean because I used the $50 vacuum to vacuum once every week or other week and picked up a good amount of dust and hair each time (about half a bag). This Hoover WindTunnel Air Steerable made me realize just how disgusting the carpet actually was and how useless the $50 vacuum was too. I filled up and emptied the Hoover canister at least ten times for only 700 square feet of carpet! It was fine dust, dirt, and a lot more human and pet hair (that didn't belong to my little dog) that I vacuumed up right after using the other vacuum. The other $50 vacuum I had was sent to goodwill. After seeing the performance of the Hoover, I will never go "cheap" on a vacuum again. I then had a professional carpet cleaning company come in and clean the carpets. There was dirt embedded in the high traffic areas of the carpets that anyone could see that the hoover could not pick up. Only a good professional shampoo and steam cleaner could get it out. However, the carpet guy only removed about a small coffee can size worth of hair and other large particles after he cleaned. The hoover removed almost all of it before he showed up.I vacuumed again about three days after the professional left and filled up another canister with fine dust and dirt that was loosened up from the professional cleaning and a very small amount of hair. The carpets looked almost brand new and I felt that they were finally clean. I used the hoover about every two weeks and picked up half a canister each time. I was able to maintain the carpet for three months before moving out and I was not charged a cleaning fee by the apartment complex because of how clean the Hoover was able to maintain the carpets after the professional cleaner did his work a few months before. The suction and mobility with the steerable function are awesome. The tools and the handle extension with the long hose makes it easy to reach any place and very good for couches and furniture. It can get high hard to reach spots as well. My only gripe is the little tool with the brush does not have a very good plastic so the plastic push button to hold the brush out sometimes pushes in and allows the brush to slide back exposing only the plastic edge. I have been able to push the button out and bend it some to hold the brush in place. Also, the brush rollers on the bottom are not too easy to clean as a lot of hair gets tied up around them. I just use a sharp pocket knife to cut the hair and pull it out when too much gets clogged up. The filter is easy to wash and clean and is supposed to be a lifetime filter. It is a very nice feature to have and I love having a bagless vacuum. The true test of this vacuum was when I moved into my new apartment. It smelled like smoke even after the carpet was "professionally" cleaned (paying the special $60 carpet cleaning guys is a waste of money to get a job done right). I spread a few boxes worth of baking soda out on all of the carpet areas rubbed it in. I let the baking soda sit for a few days and then came back with the Hoover. After vacuuming up most of the super fine baking soda, I was able to get most of the cigarrete smoke smell out of the apartment. I would not have been able to get it with the old vacuum because the baking soda was too fine and deep in the carpet to pickup. It was not a problem for the hoover. I just washed the filter when I was done and it was clean and ready to go again.I would highly recommend this vacuum for its value and its performance. The expensive Dyson may work better (have never used it) but the Hoover does the job and doesn't break the bank. I have used it on carpet and laminate and it works at getting anything loose out including the dust that is deep in the carpet. I wouldn't go with anything less in performance than this product.

Amazing, reliable, ever lasting
I had the same vacuum for 12 years and it never failed me but the handle and the suction tube broke after 12 years of use. I was really happy to find the same one at amazon. I am good for another 12 years. Thanks

Finally, I found it!
I can't begin to tell you how amazed I am that I FINALLY found a vacumn that is so perfect. It scares me to write this because I'm afraid I might jinx myself and the vac will break down. My main objective in my search for a vac was good suction, reasonable price, and light weight. I finally smartened up and read all the reviews objectively. I also decided that going with Amazon gave me that added protection if I bought another lemon. The suction on this little bugger is incredible. I couldn't believe I had all that dirt built up over the years from using inferior vacs. I thought it was going to suck the color out of the rug. The price on this little super bugger was great. I paid $159.00, free shipping thru Amazon Prime. This Hoover's reviews were comparable to Dyson without the big ticket price. It really goes against my grain to pay big money for this type of item but my frugality (cheapness) has mostly given me inferior products. I'm hoping the vac God keeps shining her light on me. The weight is light so I don't have to rest after I pushing around a heavy vac. My husband is happy because I'm not calling him to carry it up the stairs. The added bonuses I did not think about in my search for a vac was a pleasant surprise. I can now vac between small spaces without stopping to move stuff, the steerable feature ends the struggle to turn into areas that I would usually have to finagle the vac back and forth before I finally had it in place to get the nasty pet hair or whatever. I have not used the attachments yet or the hand vac features for the stairs or walls. This also does a great job on my hardwoods. I never realized what a pain in the butt it was to adjust the vac height from room to room. This Hoover is self adjusting. You may not like how it feels when you have a low commercial like carpet. The vac stays very low and you feel like your suctioning up the rug but no fear. I have not had any damaged rugs just super clean rugs. The dirt cup is just the right size for my needs. I have to empty it more often now because my dog is shedding a lot. It is important as with all vacs to keep your brush roller clean and also the filter. It's easy to get the filter out. I have to really be vigilant and maintain the roller brush because I have two daughters with long hair and this vac suction is so strong. I bought a second vac to use on my beach house. I vacuumed up so much old imbedded beach sand. If I do have any problems in the future with this vac I will certainly update my review but for now you should go out and get this one. I hope I don't eat my words! LC

Light weight, powerful suction
Light weight, powerful suction, not the best but good enough, no slim tip nozzle for narrow places
