Kikkoman Tempura Sauce, 10 Ounce (Pack of 6)

I love tempura sauce more than soy sauce. It's not as salty. Hard to find.

One of the things I never liked when eating tempura at a restaurant was the weakness of the tempura sauce. When I bought this I did not know you had to add water to thin it out. Imagine my surprise when I realized I could make a stronger sauce. I love tempura prawns and buy them regularly at the big box warehouse.With the price of things going up and the quality going down, this little taste treat in a bottle is savory succulence.Hope this helps

The product, like anything from Kikkoman is great. This particular seller also packages the bottles so they won't break. That had been a problem with some of the vendors on Amazon.

Though the first batch didn't make it through to me, but Peter was right on top of it and had a new set sent right out. This sauce is the most important part of any tempura dinner (or it is for me) and I haven't been able to buy it locally for several years. Yes, it cost roughly double what it had been locally & I would rather buy a smaller quantity, but the few folks offering it that way wanted just as much as a 6 pack here. So, I went with the lowest cost per bottle and can share some of this with others.

Great flavor and consistency. A little goes a long way. The first time I bought this I didn’t read that it was a concentrate so didn’t really much care for it but when I read it carefully and followed the directions it turned out great. Obviously not the same as a Japanese restaurant but a good stand in.

…but, packaging smelled like patchouli(?). Pungent smell within the packaging, but product itself seems authentic. No damage to bottles, just a smell.

Well packaged and promptly shipped

One of the bottles in the box was empty and broken. Each one of the bottles was indidvidually wrapped. What was interesting about it was that the broken bottle was sealed and their were no soy stains in the box: or soy sauce inside the wrapping.
