Proster RJ45 Crimp Tool, Pass Through Ethernet Crimper with Cat6 Connectors

Became easy to use after a few frustrating trial runs, getting the cable inserted into the rj45 plug can be a bit fiddly but with practice makes great cables. I would recommend buying a rj45 cable tester, not expensive but gives you a visual check that all is ok.

Works as described, happy with the purchase. You can tell that it’s not the strongest construction but for a small batch of cables or occasional use it’s perfect. If you’re going to do large quantities then perhaps something more expensive but for use as a hobbyist it’s exactly what you need.

Used the crimp tool quite a few times now and worked well and seems robust

Its a dinky little thing, 13.5 cm long but very solid and feels well made. The blade that trims the 8 wires maybe could be wider as it leaves cores 1 and 8 hanging, but they have been cut, you just have to brush them off. I had wanted a crimper for several years but was put of by the price. This one is much more affordable.

Just purchased this to make up a few leads of the right length, so much easier to have the right length of Cat 6 than a coil of it at one end or the other, which you get when you buy an over long pre-made length. Worked great straight away, first one a little fiddly, but gets easier, worth check YouTube for tips on installing. Why did you choose this product over others?: For the price and what came in the set, it was worth taking a chance and I was very pleasantly pleased with the outcome.

Firstly the connector supplied are rubbish, the clamp that pushes down to hold the main cable int he connector breaks off most of the time, to be fair, I wont be using these connectors and would purchase my own quality ones anyway but most people I suspect would buy this to maybe do some cables for home and so would use the supplied connectors. The crimp tool, not that impressed, firstly it cuts the cable ok on the side cutter but the stripper did not work for me at all and I tried to adjust the blade several times. The actual crimp part works ok to crimp the connector but cables 1 and 8 don't cut off properly meaning a possible short with the ones next to them, again I adjusted the blade as far down as it would go and I see other have made the same comment, to get a good connection with no cross connections, you need it to cut clean and precise which this simply does not do for me. Gonna try to return it as I need something I can rely on, maybe need to spend a bit more cash to get a decent one.

Model PST186 is a disappointing product because not sufficient care has been taken during its manufacturing. It does seem to be a good design idea, just needing tighter specifications! The issues which have already been reported by previous reviewers also match my experience. Two issues with its performance are, the cutting blade in crimping section does not move forward sufficiently to cleanly snip off all 8 wires in a Cat 5 cable, usually leaving the two outer wires intact. Secondly the blade for cutting through through cable is also there to strip cable, but it only performs well as a cable cutter and doesn't strip. This is partly due to the blade stopping on the edge of the small V shaped cutting plate instead of lining up with the bottom of the V in the cutting plate. Because the cable cutting blade is prevented from having sufficient downward travel, it is this which prevents the blade in the crimping tool from moving forward sufficiently to cleanly snip off all the wires. Also it is easy to inadvertently lock the tool when using. For these reasons I would suggest this tool is only suitable for occasional home use. Perhaps my tool was part of a batch where quality control in the manufacturing process was not all it could have been!

Nie jestem specjalistą, ale do użytku domowego bardzo dobre narzędzie. Po minucie tutoriala na youtubie spokojnie można sobie przyciąć kilka kabli w domu, dużo główek w zestawie i kable wyszły bardzo dobrze.
