Don't be stupid and buy a standard (non-adjustable) ladder ever again.
I am currently renting a house which i am responsible for all the maintenance for. It is now winter time and i needed to clean my gutters and investigate putting up x-mas lights. I did not have a ladder prior to buying this one, but i am one of those people who buy quality, buy once when concerning tools and other items similar in nature. I drive a VW GTI and while i can fit a ton of stuff in my car i didnt want to deal with going to lowes or home depot and picking up a regular ladder that i only need SOMETIMES, but i have to store and waste space on 100% of the time. realistically i only needed an 8ft ladder to do the work i was planning to do, but this 13' works perfectly. By comparison, a standard step stool is about 2/3 the size of this model when it is all collapsed up. Without adjusting it and only opening it, it is basically a REALLY amazing and STURDY step stool/ladder. More than enough to work on most things in the interior of your house without extending it (light bulbs, cleaning fans, painting, etc)...that is assuming you have roughly standard height ceilings and not vaulted ones. Extended up to its highest setting (but still not flipped like a standard ladder) allows you to reach most single story gutters and do any kind of roof maintenance you would need. If you want to safely climb onto a single story roof you just fold the ladder 180 and you are all set. If you are viewing this, you are at least considering this ladder. I highly recommend you get one of these werner models which will fit the height you need. These are amazingly overkilled engineering. I am a heavy guy and most ladders aren't exactly rated for my weight (most are 220lbs or whatever). I have full confidence in the build quality in this ladder. If you buy a regular ladder and its within the height range of what these telescoping ladders can reach you made a poor decision. If standard ladders are VCR this is blu-ray. The clear exception is if you need a fiberglass ladder for safety reasons, which in that case please don't buy this ladder :)

It's a ladder!
OK, firstly I was not thinking clearly when I bought this and thought that 13' meant the step ladder version would be that high. On the plus, this makes a versatile little ladder around the house and yard--I also just picked up the Pros: very easy to adjust, very sturdy and solid--doesn't slide! feet grip onto it well folds down TINY--easy to store almost anywhere well crafted--I have no qualms with leaving it out in the weather from time to time Cons: Not very wide Standing on the top recommended step is crazy unless you have something to hold onto. The ladder is somewhat narrow so you are essentially standing up high with your feet together--not very safe HEAVY. I am wary of the 26' version but I need to clean the gutters ;0

Heavy duty spacesaver ladder
I first chose this ladder because of its reduced size and 300 lb limit. Then I went to the manufacturer's site and watched their video to see it's versatility. As a new home owner this was everything I need in a ladder for an affordable price. I am able to change it's configuration easily by myself. Most importantly this is very sturdy. I live in a single story house on flat land and this size will work for any areas I might need to reach. The great bonus is that when you are done using it, it folds down small enough to fit in an average hall closet. If you are looking for a ladder to access a second story or if you are on a hill I would suggest you view the taller versions of this ladder. I would highly recommend this ladder.

Fantastic design
I would recommend this -- it's very versatile, can be adjusted easily for both indoor and outdoor use. Storage size height is about 3 feet, which make is easy to carry. But the weight and width make it a little cumbersome but still quite worth while for its versatality. It can certainly be carried underarm without much trouble and tool bag in the other. The spring loaded adjustments are quite easy if you don't struggle against it. Rather allow the adjustments to ease into position rather than force. The pre-adjusted locking positions fall into place quite well and feels quite solid. In the straight position with the ladder supported agains a wall it is important to make sure it is placed as directed with the hinge bearing the weight outwards away from the wall -- this is labeled clearly. Regular ladders against the wall can be placed either side, but in this case due to the hinge placing it incorrectly could cause injuries. Overall very sturdy and flexible for a sub-$100 ladder. Kudos to the designer. For 5 starts it should also read my mind and lift me into position automatically. Room for improvment here.

Great multi function ladder
While looking to replace a standard 6' stepladder, I ran across this gem. Without even reading the manual, I was able to figure out how to convert it from a small 3' step ladder to the fully extended 11' extension ladder and back to the single storage setting. The ladder feels sturdy and every step up or down you feel comfortable knowing it's locked into place. The 13' height was tall enough to reach the roof of my single story home. It's also easy enough to convert to a 3' or 5' step ladder for smaller projects. My only con (or wish) is that the step ladder would max out at 6' instead of 5'. I could have upgraded to the MT-17, but that's just too much for me and it's really not a big deal. You will enjoy this purchase and if you catch it on sale, it will be a great value!

NOT 13 FEET. NOT EVEN CLOSE.
I don't know what else matters beyond that, the product delivered is not the product described, named, and ordered. It's 10.5' when fully extended, aka 20% less than the stated length. It's called a 13' ladder. The length is given as "13-foot" in the "Technical Details" section of the product description. And then, if you look at the chart with 3 other ladders and 32 total specifications listed in 8 columns, you *might* happen to notice that the 'extension height' is listed as "7-11". But if you're anything like me, you will only notice that after you've unpacked the ladder, extended it, and promptly realized you can't begin working on the project you were all set to work on. 'Epic fail', as the kids said in 2012. It turns out all Werner ladders are, for reasons known only to Werner and the powers that be, ALL named with a length that exists only in someone's imagination. I imagine that a healthy percentage of people will not go thru the hassle of returning their shorter-than-advertised ladder, which allows this company to continuously profit off of false advertising. Screw that, and screw companies like this and the dealers who sell their products. Don't let them keep your money, you deserve better.

Not 13' tall, but still nice.
Great ladder, but it's only about 10 feet tall max, not 13. I'm not sure how they're measuring up to 13' (??) - still and excellent quality ladder for a great price, though.

Awesome ladder
When they made this ladder, they really thought of just about everything. It is so versatile, and the construction is very durable. It's easy to use, extend, and very stable. It is so stable it can be folded together (with no leg spacing) and can stand up on a flat surface without tipping over. One word of caution is that when you extend it to it's longest height as a "lean-to" ladder, it is difficult to manage given it's height and weight. May require a second person to help carry it, if you're not strong enough. I would definitely buy this ladder again.
