Polk Audio DB522 DB+ Series 5-1/4" Coaxial Speaker for Car Audio & Marine

Installed these speakers in my fairing on my Harley they sound awesome loud and clear,no amplifier needed ,,will order again.great value great product

I just put these in my TJ Wrangler. What a massive upgrade! They replaced some Sony 4x6s, and they are WAY LOUDER, and WAY BETTER SOUND. The treble is brighter, and more clear. The mid-range is amazing too. I even get some bass coming out of the front speakers now too. If you have a TJ Wrangler, don't hesitate on this upgrade.

Replacing PQN ECO 50 (5" Dia) Waterproof speakers on the exterior of a 2015 Lance 2295 Travel Trailer, which only has 1 1/8" speaker pocket depth. I added the DCO 1" Universal Spacers for 5.25" to 6" speakers, as listed by Amazon as frequently purchased together with these Polk speakers. These spacers' mounting holes matched the existing PQN Speaker holes on the side of the Lance travel trailer and the predrilled holes in the spacers matched the Polk speaker and grill holes perfectly. I used Gorilla Glue's clear silicon caulking during installation to seal the spacer and speaker assembly to the side of the Lance. The spacers and speakers installed easily and look good. If you use the PQN Speaker holes for mounting the spacer and predrilled spacer holes for mounting the speakers, the speaker grill will be slightly angled. If this bothers you then you'll have to drill new mounting holes. The speakers once turned on and letting warm up for a few minutes, provided sharp sound at midrange and above. The bass was also sharp, but just about what you would expect from a 5.25" speaker. Pretty good bass, but it is not the speakers' strong suit. Build quality is impressive especially when compared to the PQN speakers that are used by the manufacturer because the speakers use low wattage and are light weight. The Polk speakers have some weight, due to the good sized magnet. I'm happy with the upgrade and would recommend these speakers.

I installed these on my motorcycle, and hooked them to my Rockford Fosgate PBR 300X2 amplifier. I went through two sets of speakers with this amp, blew out a speaker on each set. One of those sets was the younger brother of the DB522, the DB521. I realized I needed something that could handle a larger sustained RMS wattage. The DB522 has over twice the RMS wattage and over twice the peak power, so I splurged for them. However, when I put them into the bike, they didn't sound near as good. I was so frustrated I was going to sell them and try a different set of speakers. But after doing some research, I really took some time tuning all the various settings on the amp in order to get the best sound out of the speakers, and now they sound great. I love them, and can play my music loud, which is important when trying to hear over the wind.

These are really nice sounding speakers. I replaced the speakers in my pontoon and what a differance. Crisp clean tenor and midrange. Solid base sound, not muddled at all. Really surprised and pleased with these speakers!

Been on my Harley for 3 years now, they still sound really good and I have zero complaints

I have used polk speakers in automotive boat and home situations and have always been more than pleased. these speakers were for my motorcycle they had a better decibel rating and the cone was made of a better material than the factory speakers but at 50 mph I couldn't hear them play and the factory speakers I could hear clear at 65 I was looking for a higher quality of sound and I didn't get that either I'm going to try something else

Put in the rear of my ford falcon wagon. Very very good sound upgrade for the price. Sounds better than The SCA range at this price point. Powered fine by the stock head unit.

Excellent clear bassy sounds from this speakers

I read an article from a car audio reviewer who chose these speakers in a field test against a number of other well known to me car audio manufacturers. I decided to go with the result to replace the four speakers in my 88 Honda Prelude. I decided to go with the original sized speakers, these being 5.25 inch in the two doors and 4 inch Polks in the rear parcel shelf. At the samr time I did add s9me sound deadening on the inside if the door oanels and on the boot floor. The clarity of sound produced by the Polks is simply stunning and I think the best that I have ever experienced. The separation and crossover is amazing. The speakers completely defy their small dimensions. I will have to add a small sub to give the setup some deeper bass, which really is expected and certainly not a criticism as the speakers do provide more bass than expected from speakers of this size, but not quite enough for a fully rounded setup.

A speaker with decent sound and not too deep that can fit an e30 with the original covers is a win for me. Not going to say they are the best sounding things in the world but they are also attached to an old car and stereo so it's not like they can be truly tested by me either.
