The Story of Martin Luther King Jr.: A Biography Book for New Readers

I bought this as a birthday present for my 11 yr old and she read it in 2 days. She thoroughly enjoyed it. Well written for her age group. Would definitely recommend it. In the process of offering Barack Obama and others.

A lovely written book, great content, kind price.

This is NOT a 1st-2nd grade lexile level book. It has words like: Emancipation Proclamation, Segregation, etc....not an easy read, but still a great book. I don't believe my AA 4th grader is ready for black history books. We'll definitely return back to this....

I was afraid this wouldn’t hold my 6.5 year old’s interest for long but I was wrong. We read a chapter every night (they’re pretty short) and he usually asks me to read more. It’s a bit advanced for his reading level so I read it to him. We’ve had some great discussions around segregation and civil rights. I’m so happy I was able to find a book that introduces him to these big topics at such an early age. He is also interested in learning more about the presidents now since JFK is mentioned in the book. We are on the last chapter now and he wants to buy more in the series (we just bought Barack Obama and are excited to read that one next)!!

Bought this book for my 8 yr old boy to help him get an understanding of Martin Luther King and what a great man he was.
