Q: Does the packaging consist of a plastic cover that you have to remove before opening the product?

I don't recall a plastic cover or seal. Mine just has a lid. I love the product , however. I had chemo a few years back, and it keeps my hair from being dry when I use it as a masque when I wash my hair.
