Great low profile jack on a budget
I bought this back in April of 2015(6 years ago). I work on several cars that have lower ground clearance and I needed something that was stable and not overly expensive to reach jack points further under the vehicle. Been using this about once a month or so(so not super frequent), but it has held up and never failed or faltered. Most of my cars are around 3000 lbs, give or take a couple hundred. It's a heavy unit, but the wheels roll pretty well. If you have soft concrete or asphalt, it may leave marks, so if you're worried about that, be sure to put some protectant layering on your floors to be safe(which is just good advice anyway if you're worried about damaging the floors in a garage/workshop). I think several other reviewers have noted this, but I purchased a hockey puck to sit between the jack and the contact point on my cars to reduce any damage/scratching on my cars, and it was well worth the money to make this jack even better. The jack handle has 2 sections(divided in half) with a spring pin that should connect them. The only "problem" I have had with this jack is that this spring pin between the upper and lower jack handle never quite engaged from the beginning, so I have to drag it around by the lower half of the handle, or else the upper handle will just pull out. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, but worth noting. Personally I think this "flaw" is actually more beneficial for me, as I often use that portion of pipe as an extension bar for my wrenches when needed("breaker bar"). I'm sure if you get one with this problem the manufacturer would make it right, I just never cared to reach out and ask, since I liked it being easier to remove. It doesn't just fall out on it's own, it still requires just a little elbow grease to remove it, but it is easy enough to separate when I need it. That said, I suspect most people don't have any issues with the catch on that bar, since I don't recall seeing anyone else complain about it back when I bought it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is a hobbyist that enjoys working on their own cars. I love how far it can reach under even our lowest cars. I can't vouch for how well this would hold up to daily use in say an autoshop/business compared to a high name brand, but I have loved it and if/when it finally gives up the ghost I won't hesitate to buy this again!

Heavy duty in so many ways!
Man is this thing HEAVY! Certainly a good thing for stability and rigidity. As most have already stated, the depth that this jack can reach into, and the amount of rise you get, are both phenomenal! I can see this baby coming in very handy when replacing transmission and engine mounts, or when that extra inch of lift is needed to reach though the subframe to get that elusive header bolt or o2 sensor. I have a lowered car - about 3.5" off the ground at the rocker panel mount points. With a hockey puck, this thing slips under there without issue for a quick lift-and-peek. But I *always* put my cars on jack stands at those points, and this is where the phenomenal lift of this jack comes in handy --- at a little over 50% total lift from the vehicle's front jack mounting point (about 8 to 10 full pumps) you get enough air behind the front wheels to slip the jack stands into place. Can't do that with your average $30 jack stand! The hydraulic mechanism on this jack is also smooth. It's not "creaky" like on some jacks - not as much finesse required to smoothly lower a vehicle. The saddle also lowers nicely into the frame, and tucks away completely--- minimizing the risk of snags on the underchassis (common with other jacks when positioning under lowered cars). A nice thing to see added to the design are carrying handles. Though, considering how these things are already pretty much 100lbs and close to 3ft long at the base --- I see this pretty much making most of its mileage on the garage floor. Call it the big daddy of jacks that all the little jacks bow to when the toughest jobs come home.

Great for BMW 335 (e92)
Got it on sale as it seems to drop 40% every few months. If you have a E92 or BMW 335 type car get this! I was wary before but it definitely is great. This will slide right under the front to lift the car and the back to lift the car. Even used it on the side jack points. Note although it's a 2000 lbs jack, and the car was around 4000 pounds, you are only lifting one side. Recommend to use pucks if you can. I found using pucks over the rubber mounts worked better for me. I went with this one and although I didn't like it was only 2000 pounds, it had the right height to get under my car and not needing to use any 2x4s to get the car higher. I did this in case my car wouldn't move I could still lift it up. It does creak a little which might scare you thinking it can't handle the weight, but so far so good. No guarantees here, but that it has worked so far. One caveat is that the picture is black and I got a green one like others have mentioned. They should just say it that it's green! Also when you get it your box will be pretty beat up. You will have some damage unfortunately. When I got it also the instructions (I don't recall) didn't mention another clip on the unit when you're raising it. Watch out as that will break and fly out and you don't want to get hit with it if perhaps that ever was to happen. Also styrofoam everywhere! Tons of grease everywhere in the box because they greased it up pretty well. Some slight damage but still workable. Also when you roll it it will make a lot of noise will those metal wheels. It's also a heavy beast! With all that said, still happy with it.

Almost makes me WANT to climb under the car
Edit 8/3/2016: For anyone considering this jack for the purpose of having a 24" lift height, you MUST order the extra low profile option listed here on Amazon. It is the XL2T model. It's more expensive, heavier, and lifts to a full 24" saddle height. I'll post a pic next to a tape measure when I have time. Please refrain from cluttering my review with negative comments due to your inability to comprehend that the Amazon listing features 2 different jack models. I'm assuming those of you who cheaped out got the smaller model, and now feel the need to blame me for your purchasing error. EDIT: I was finally able to use this jack. It's awesome! It actually lifts higher than my jack stands so it looks like I'll be getting larger stands in order to take full advantage of the lifting height. The saddle reached the lifting point in 1 1/2 strokes (not sure I actually did a full stroke as I was making sure everybing was adjusted properly for the initial lift). It raised the car very quickly and fairly effortlessly. I have contacted Arcan about replacement parts but have not received a reply. I'm hoping to be able to order a spare piston as inevitably it will fail. I'm just hoping to get at least 4-5 years out of it. I've also noticed the price has dropped by $10 over the past 2 weeks since ordering mine. Original review: Please note that I have not used this jack yet. This is only a review of unpacking it and comparing it to my shot craftsman. First off, this thing is heavy. I think it's about 100 lbs. Fortunately, it rolls rather well across the garage floor. Also, Amazon Prime included free shipping. I've noticed that Northern Tool charges $100 to ship the same jack. On first impression this thing is NICE. It lifts to a full 24". I'll post a comparison pic next to my Craftsman, which by the way is shot and leaks all the fluid out when under load. The Craftsman tops out at 18.5". The Arcan is also lower and longer than the Craftsman. The only advantage with the Craftsman is the weight. I think it only weighs around 40 lbs. I use a hockey puck to lift the vehicles on the pinch welds at the jack points on the sides. It fits perfectly on the saddle of the Arcan. No need to buy pricey saddle cushions/covers. I'm going to attempt to get to some exhaust work on a car this weekend, so I'll update with how well it works under load. Also, as a precaution, I "bled" the jack following the directions, just incase there was any air trapped from shipping.

Top Quality, Low Profile Floor Jack!!!
Simply a great floor jack! I've read all the reviews both here and on many other web sites, and I couldn't find one thing I didn't like about this floor jack. Apparently most everyone else feels the same way. Nothing but glowing reviews. Personally, I love this jack! You can easily see that it's over built, it's welds are all excellent/very solid. It being very low profile is great (2-3/4"), but this jack is also great in it's lifting range (up to 24 inches), and overall reach. The lifting base is solid and wide, just great for stability. It's just an all around great floor jack, that any home owner would love. It lifts the front end of my 2002 Ford Windstar with no problems. It operates/lifts really smooth & easy. It lowers very smooth also. Being front end heavy, my last jack had some problems with my Van, but it was also 15 years old. Gave it to a friend who's gonna replace some parts on it, and keep it for himself. After the reviews already written, I really can't add any more. For more info & a very good, well written, and detailed review, read "Jimmy Stewart's" review, it's a good read! Titled "A Unique, Multipurpose Lift" It's currently the top review. Anyways, this is an excellent floor jack, which everyone could use. If your considering this floor jack, I'd highly recommend buying it, and you'd be very happy with your purchase! I love it, and I bet you would to!

Good floor jack
Nice jack. Very low profile with long reach. Well finished, though it did get a little beat up in transit - packaging could have been better. Sturdy. Easy to lower quickly or slowly. It comes nearly fully assembled - just attach the handle.

This jack is a chonker!
I would say this is one level below from having a 4 point car lift because this thing is a beast. It's built great and HEAVY! It does the job like it's supposed to and it does it well! I live in an apartment so the only downside is it's weight as I don't have a garage so I put this on a dolly to transport it to my car when I need to use it. Make sure you read the instructions before using it! I couldn't figure out how to get the bar into the fitting to pump the piston because I missed the part where I need to loosen the locking bolt. The low profile design is able to get under my BMW F30 and reach all the way to the jacking point in the front! Perfect!
