Good product, but details can be more informative
The FPS00201 is specifically advertised as having Linux compatibility, which it does - sort of.... In Windows 11, the device is recognized automatically and there is no need to download drivers. It works well, is recognized by Windows Hello, and is accurate. In Linux, libfprintd recognizes the device as a swipe sensor and, as a result, it doesn't work as the device itself is a capacitive touch sensor. There are hacks yo libfrintd that can be made to change this behavior, however this breaks the signing on the kernel which is not an option for when running a secured kernel. Purchased specifically for the Linux compatibility, this discovery was a disappointment as it is otherwise a good product.
