It doesn’t states on the product that it is vegan , however, looking at formula and researching, it seems to be Vegan.

Does this product have retinol in it?

No retinol. It’s feels like giving your face a drink of water!

I just took the top off my jar is it normal not to have a second cover after you take the top off?

I don't remember a second covering over the Palmer's Coconut (I get the moisturing cream) it's very nice stuff though. Light and smells delish.
