Amazing little lens
Sharper than a razor blade. Smaller than my 50mm Cron. Just a tiny lil viewfinder blockage on a corner that’s barely even visible. It’s smooth and built like a tank. What’s not to love? My only gripe is the focusing nipple isn’t as grippy as a proper tab like the one found on Leica lenses. But it’s manageable.Would recommend 100%.

Not fast, but sharp, small and perfect.
Simply one amazing lens. I have demoed, reviewed and tested every Zeiss lens made, and this is one of my favorites. May not be the fastest in my bag, but is definitely one of the smallest, sharpest I own.

Good, but probably closer to perfect if on a Leica or Ikon body
I use this lens on a cv r4m. The focus doesn't seem to throw very smoothly on this camera. I don't know if it's that my camera is bad or that it's common. The lens is solid zeiss quality and the images produced are what is to be expected, sharp and contrast. I suppose that if you are considering buying this lens, that you've already done your research. I mainly wanted to comment on this lens's pairing with the r4m.

Sort of a bummer
I read a dozen reviews of this lens before I bought it and literally thought I'd get Leica performance at a third of the price... Well, that didn't happen. There's a red color shift to the left side of the pictures that is rather irritating(as well as some other color issues with reds and greens). Unfortunately the reviews of I read failed to mention this. It can be corrected with software or by just shooting in B&W, but my other lenses have not had this problem. FWIW, I've only used it on an EOS M. Turns out, lots of folks have the same problem with this lens on various cameras and it's not just my example. That said, this lens is crazy sharp and makes for great B&Ws. I can't decide if I want to return it. Forcing myself to shoot B&W is educational.update: I've got to use this on a Leica M and I've got to say that the color issue is not nearly as pronounced. However, it is difficult to actually attach the lens to the camera compared to the Leica lenses I tried. Ugh! I really wanted to like this lens b/c the detail/sharpness are utterly awesome, but I can't say that I do. It does have great potential and maybe this is just a poor example, but I would want to force this lens on to a $7,000 camera very often(well, never to be honest). Bummer.
