Q: Is this too long for a smart 9 year old?

Too long? No. Too young? Possibly. My 4.5 year old understands it and can play with parent help. A smart 9 year old might not find it challenging enough.

Q: Can this game be played repeatedly? Or is it played one time and the process is always the same?

It is somewhat similar to the game of clue. There will be a different suspect (guilty fox) each time. You can change it up some if it seems too repetitive. I have to say that my 5 and 7 year old boys love this game and have yet to find it boring. You can alter the number of guesses as to who the guilty fox is to give the game a different flavor, yet we find it fine just as is. It is funny and fun.

Q: I recently purchased and provided for a Christmas gift. Upon opening we noticed duplicative clue cards. Does anyone else experience this?

LOL- I bet you got ours! We opened ours at Christmas and didn't have any fox icon (no big deal) or clue cards (couldn't play). I contacted Playwright and they said they could send replacements in 2-4 weeks.
