New 90325 Universal Remote Control for TV, Smart TV – 1 Year Warranty (TS 12/+)

The remote control for my circa 2007 Toshiba LCD Television began wearing out a few years ago. Many of the most used keys stopped working. While I have several universal remotes that work with the TV, none of those had all of the functions of the original remote. This one does. Unlike a universal remote, there's was no need to program the remote to get it to "talk" to the TV. All I did was install the batteries and point out towards the TV. Rescanning TV channels (essential as more over-the-air side channels become available) is much easier with this remote than with my universal remote. Now I only need one remote for the TV rather than three!

Easy to set up and begin using right away. There is hardly any work to this universal remote at all, and it worked even on an older model Toshiba TV without any issues. It was on, programmed and working within just a few minutes of opening it. The buttons are large enough to be comfortable without being so big that they end up feeling awkward. They are easy to push and the battery backing is easy to remove and replace without a struggle. This was a simple answer to a remote that was beginning to have issues without having to contact the company. Thanks Amazon!

I have a 4-year old Toshiba 55L310U LED TV (non-smart type). Recently, the only button on the remove control that worked when pressed is the input button and the power button worked when it felt like it. Ordered this remove control Friday night, received it Saturday night. Put the batteries in (2-AA, included), pointed it at the TV, and DONE. Buttons are simple and self-explanatory, and feel solid and responsive. I've attached a pic of the product insert which indicated that if your current remote looks like one of those in the pic, this control will work. YMMV.

Torn between giving it 4 or 5 stars. It felt a little cheap when I opened it, but it works great and is pretty much identical to the one I had. Yes, it does seem lighter, but I don’t know if it’s just me or if it really is made a little more cheaply. To not give it five stars when it looks the same and works the same as the original seems petty. The price was about the same as some generic remotes, so if I needed to replace this remote again, I’d happily buy this model again.

This remote is just about as good as the original that came with the TV. Sometimes I have to push the buttons more than once to get the TV to respond, but not a big deal. Note: In rating this there are sub categories, one being sound quality. There doesn't appear to be a speaker in the remote, so I only gave that one star. Otherwise this is a good value for the price.
