Great quality and smart design...
This flashlight isn't cheap and the reason is because it's well made and has a great design. IMO it's well worth what you pay. I particularly like the following... - It uses AA batteries - The dual light design is brilliant - It's an on/off light basically and avoids the potentially annoying 'clicky' nature of most modern flash lights that require multiple presses to get to the mode you actually want to use. I like and prefer a simple flashlight. - The bright colour ensures it's easy to find in the dark and highly visible if you drop it on the ground. Again, smart. - The size is perfect for a general-purpose home flashlight and it's a great size for the vehicle. In a nut shell I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a well made, intelligently designed, and reliable flashlight. Perfect for a bugout bag, vehicle, or for home use.

Amazing idea - 2 separate beams in one torch. US Emergency Services use it.
Amazing idea - 2 separate beams - One in front of you, and one shining down at your feet where you are walking. Genius. I believe it is issued to the US emergency services - It is very tough plastic, very dense, very neon bright and easy to find. I imagine it would take quite a knock. Extremely well engineered - This is my 'go to' torch. Get what you pay for. It is an import, so it is a week or so to arrive. For anyone who has to walk in the dark to be honest.

Lasted a ROUGH 2 1/2 years
Extremely impressed. I've used this five days a week, all day, for 2 1/2 years in a petroleum rich construction environment. Longest lasting flashlight I've encountered and I've been through a lot of brands. Excellent battery life. Excellent brightness/focus. On and off switch! No SOS, press once for high, twice for low hold down while standing on one leg to turn off BS. Just simple. Rubber buttons were first to go but light still worked great (after electrical tape repair job). Plastic battery cage finally broke. May attempt to see if warranty will cover it out of curiosity... Or just may attempt to "repair" myself for a back up. Switches still work! That's what usually always goes first with other brands I've used. To be clear, this light was USED. Daily. It was not babied in the slightest. It's the most important TOOL for my field of work. I bought an identical replacement. Worth every penny given the environment I put it through.

Great for Rural Areas
I'd bought an Eveready 2-AA flashlight with lots of lumens. I wanted a quick flashlight for around the house, but also outside where it's pitch black at night. That flashlight routinely went through batteries, even when it wasn't being used, for whatever technical reason (probably a smart switch), and would suddenly die, right when I was out in that darkness. I did some research, and found that I don't need all that many lumens -- I read some articles that compare brightness. I also wanted a rugged, well-made, hopefully American made flashlight, and came upon this dual light. It uses 3 AA batteries, but I don't care! It's great! It's only slightly larger than a typical 2 AA flashlight, and easily fits in the hand. It comes with a wrist lanyard as well. I reach for this flashlight constantly, because with the side light (each light has its own switch), I can use this like a quick work light. It doesn't roll when I lay it down, it's bright, and the light faces the work area, not my eyes. Plus, I can stand it on it's front face, and that side light still is perfectly bright. Then I took it outside one night, to walk around the property. With no moon, I can't see anything at all. I turned on the front facing light, and it was amply bright enough to see where I was going, what I was looking at, and quite far ahead. Then I added the side light -- you can turn on either light (front or side), or both at the same time. Just as others have said, the side light, pointing down, lit up a nice path for walking, while the front light lit up the yard. Really a nice light! I don't need waterproof, and don't go out in the rain. I just need a work light in the house, a quick light for under cabinets, and something when I go outside. This perfectly meets all those needs. I haven't had it long enough to know the battery life, but it's already WAY longer than that "smart" Eveready. I'm just using regular AA batteries, but if I put in lithium, I'm sure it would be even brighter.
