Good steel, decent balance but not damascus.
First of all this is a laminate blade not damascus. There is no way a real Damascus steel blade would be this cheap. However this knife is better than the "amazon recommended" ones . It came shaving sharp, has decent balance even if the handle it small for my hands. Cuts very "VERY!" thin pieces of meat and vegetables with little effort required. Cleans up better than the cheaper model knives. The cons is that it comes with a very poor protective sheath. The Laminate blade is what caught my eye since it's a vlade with a hard core and a bit softer sharpen able outer layer. Usually you only see knives like this in brands like Morakniv, Fallkniven, Hultafors, Helle. All much higher in quality knives.Definitely worth the higher price.

Weight, balance, hand feel beauty and sharpness. Better than expected. 👍🏻
My Nikiri came today and in time to prepare a steak shish-a-bob on the grill. Out of the box the knife is a beauty. It is sharp, well balanced, a perfect weight, and easy to hold. Some reviewers complained about the handle being too slick. I use a pinch grip and have had no issues so far. I gave it a couple licks on my ceramic honing rod and it cut through the steak like a hot knife through butter. I didn’t need to hone it out of the box, habit took over without thinking. Veggies too yielded easily under the blade as I would expect them to. One of the deciding factors for me is that it is a 7” knife and the oval handle shape. I don’t care for slab sided handles. The 6” Nikiri knives are too short for the way I cut vegetables. All-in-all it is a great value and once I’m used to it, I’m certain it will have a permanent and well used slot in my knife block.Yes, I would recommend this knife to a friend. 👍🏻

So far... this is a great knife and value.
First, let me say the knife I received is very sharp. The steel (allegedly/hopefully) used is excellent, only exceeded by VG-Max in professional knives. A similar VG-Max knife would cost about $180.The design has good balance and the straight blade has so many uses.I loved the warning note stating that if you drop the knife, do not try to catch it! That’s a great thing to include with any straight blade knife (any knife really, but especially a straight blade).I’ll post edge retention and sharpening notes/updates. So far this is a great knife at a great price.

A Nice Addition to My Knife Set
I'm an experienced restaurant chef - just not in Michelin star restaurants, but more like the popular and high quality local restaurants that everybody can afford... I wanted a Nakiri to expand my skillset with this type of knife, and the Sunnecko 7" Nakiri has been a wonderful addition in my kitchen. I like that the blade is relatively thin compared to my traditional Western-style 8" chef knife. The Nakiri makes vegetable prep fast and easy, and the rectangular shape of the blade makes for an easy slice/scoop/drop for the veg. I certainly suggest that those looking for a quality Nakiri that won't break the bank, start with this offering from Sunnecko.

Good
The knife is very sharp. Mainly bought to cut fish, but after some usage some part of edge got little bend. But still usable. Easy to cut veggies and boneless meats
