I printed out all of my husband's emails when he was deployed to Iraq for a year & would like to bind them. Is this cloth plus glue how I do that?

It is a little more complicated than that (you'll need book board or chip board or something for a cover and the emails will need to be sewn together in "signatures" first) but yes this plus a white glue like modge podge (if you don't have pva bookbinding glue) will be part of the process of putting the emails together if you want them bound like your usual hard cover book. You can look up how to bind books on youtube and there will be tons of different ways to do it. The glue and cloth come in after the "signatures" of your book have been sewn together so you will need to check out some different ways to bind books before committing to this cloth since you may choose a different type of binding that doesn't need it.

Is this magic cloth sheer at all? I need something that is semi-transparent!

This product is not sheer - it has the consistency of a loose-mesh fiberglass. I have used it to repair book bindings and it is an excellent product.

Will this work to repair my book spine? Is it double or single stitch?

I am a professional bookbinder, and have used this product for a good while now. It does a good job with repairing book spines. I use it almost daily. It also does very well for installing 'signatures' (loose pages). I recommend this product. However, the manner of application varies with each individual bookbinder. I have discovered the application of this material is much easier than maybe some others I have used.
