This is my first purchase of kaolin clay, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I have a recipe for bath bombs that needs kaolin clay and I only needed a few tablespoons. This clay is a fine powder that came packaged in a clear plastic bag with a sticker identifying the contents. I made the bath bombs and was very impressed by how well the clay blended with the other ingredients. There were no lumps in the final mixture. The bombs molded nicely and held their shape. When using the bath bomb, the clay did not separate or clump. The water in the bath was soft and there was no residue left after draining the water. I'm impressed by the performance of this kaolin clay and I look forward to trying other recipes with it. Next I will try making a face mask!

Over the holidays I ordered this to make some natural cosmetics with my 13-year old niece. They came out really great. For Christmas gifts, we mixed equal amounts of this clay and arrow root powder with a small amount of baking soda to make a body powder. We added some cinnamon, nutmeg, and a little clove for fragrance. I was teaching my niece to sew and we found these cute little square tins with a plastic pane in the top to hold the powder. We made silk bags to hold the tins and made matching powder puffs, the size of the tins, out of curly white, faux fur. We took the silk used for the bags and made a thing ribbon and tied a knot in it. Then we attached one end to each side of the powder puff. This makes a band for you to slip your fingers under when using the puff to apply powder. This powder is wonderfully soft and silky. Everyone loved it and the entire gift cost very little since we were able to purchase fabric remnants. I apply it twice daily I like it so much. The fragrance is warm and makes me feel like a Christmas cookie. My niece, her mother and I made snickerdoodle cookies during the holiday so the fragrance reminds of that nice experience as well.
