Little GiantGalvanized Steel Chow Hound Dog Feeder, 25Lb

Q: I have 2 large great pyrenese dogs. How wide is the door opening? I am worried it wont be big enough for a big headed dog.

I have a yellow Lab and the opening is barely large enough for her. Feeder is also very low to the ground. We will be putting it up on concrete blocks to make it a better height. This company makes a larger feeder that holds 50 lbs. that might work better for your dogs.

Q: Does the feeder limit the quantity of dog food or do you rely on the dog to get full and stop eating?

The dog eats as much as they need. There is no limit to the amount they can have. Most dogs self-regulate, but we do have one who cannot be on a feeder.

Q: Do you think this will keep mice out? We plan to use inside our kitchen where our dog's food bowls have been attracting mice

I believe this will serve better than a bowl. However be aware that some dogs may find difficult to push lid forward with nose and head and eat. My have to tilt lid open as I did

Q: Does the feeder have a timer so it can this be set up for automatic feeding? What keeps dogs from eating too much?

No timer. When dogs are full, they stop eating and only eat when they are hungry. Thus, no issues with food aggression with their sibling dogs, and it makes for a great feeder when you are out of town for the weekend.
