is it dishwashwe safe?

The blade is stainless steel and the handle is wooden. Yes it can be washed in the dishwasher. However, whenever using a wooden handle knife it is recommended to hand wash as the wooden handle will dry out.

How do we sharpen this knife? Any particular knife sharpener?

Use a steel honing rod. Swipe the edge against the rod at a 20 degree angle for 3 - 5 times on each side in a downward motion. If it's still dull use a ceramic sharpening rod and do the same thing. Then use a piece of leather (or leather belt) to strop the edge. YouTube has videos on how to perform these tasks. Good luck.

Has anyone found the sheath that fits this well? Or do you guys have advise on making one?

I am using it only for cooking purposes, in the kitchen. So it usually stays on a magnetic bar on the wall. I have no idea on how making a proper sheath for it.

Is it an 8inch blade?
