So many uses!
Love this machine! I use it all the time for homemade salsa, protein snacks, tomato sauce, grating cheese...I'm always thinking of other ways to use it! Easy to clean and store.

Simple but does the job
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Doesn't overcomplicate it. There is a shredding attachment and a blending blade and two speeds. It does one thing well instead of trying to add on unhelpful features

Quiet, simply excellent
We replaced our old old DLC-2011* with this model. So many improvements, where to begin?- It's so quiet. Making mayonnaise is a frequent event at our house and this is a pleasure. No more teeth-gritting.-The simple lid without the chute IS A DREAM TO CLEAN-The old model collected a lot of water in the chambers that held the safety mechanism, and the handle. Eventually, this developed mildew (honestly we should've replaced it a long time ago for this reason). This model seems like it will not have this problem.-The safety is a little tight (locking the bowl and getting the lid to activate the safety), this might improve with use.-No dough blade, but then, we never really used that thing.-The chute construction is a little baffling. There's flexible plastic clippy type thing, clear sliding parts, a black pusher. I've yet to use it. It seems okay, and as above with the mildew problem of the old model, seems like it will dry out completely.-Paddle operation is nice. The old model had the plastic covering over buttons which were wearing out and breaking. The paddles will wipe clean, and offer very efficient control (no more button mashing, especially when pulsing).-The cord keeper! Oh, this is a dream. A little strappy thing that means no more winding the cord around the unit to keep it from dangling off the prep table. This is better than a retractable cord that could malfunction. In summary: Well done, product engineers.Honestly, I considered one of those other units that does all the things like spiralizing etc. but this Cuisinart is a trusty workhorse. It's simply well designed, it does what it does perfectly, and our $20 hand-spiralizer works just fine.

My bad?
Great product! Works better than most food processors. By the description I may have misunderstood but expected brushed chrome metal base but was actually plastic. Otherwise as described and works great. Great value for the price nonetheless.

Yes, powerhouse food processor!! Best one!
This is a great machine. I have a large one but wanted the medium size too. It's a powerhouse and I love it! Can't have too many great kitchen gadgets and this is so well made. Know you'll have it for at least 15-20 years. They never break!!! And if your blades need to be replaced. You can buy the replace blade. It's fantastic

New product lower in quality than processors of the past.
I bought this food processor to replace one I had had for at least 25 years. This product was much lighter in weight and felt less durable. I attempted to grate parmesan cheese and the blade kept flying off the spindle. The cheese was never grated well When I examined the blade, it was 1 ounce lighter than the old one and I think that was part of the problem. I returned the machine and ordered a replacement work bowl for the old machine.

First impressions are very good!
Just received my Cuisinart DLC-8SBCYP1 food processor. I haven't had a chance to run it through its paces yet, will be doing so shortly. This review is based on first impressions after unboxing. First off, this is built like a tank. I was concerned, based on other reviews, that the bowl was going to be thin and fragile. Well, it's not. I have a Cuisinart Little Pro Plus (3-cup) that is at least 30 years old and going strong. The bowl wall on that measures about 2.4mm. The bowl wall on this new one is 2.9mm, likely closer to 3mm. So it is thicker and VERY solid. The blade discs are all very heavy and you can feel the balance from the weights.I was under the impression this was going to be a brushed aluminum casing, but it is just plastic with a brushed aluminum look to it. Not bad, it looks nice.Something else, Amazon shows this model is 220V. It is in fact 120V/60Hz. I wasn't sure what to think, but based on research, it seemed that Amazon had their facts incorrect in the description. So I took a slight chance ordering it, but my hunch/research proved correct. The paddle switches seem just a tiny, tiny bit janky, but I think they will hold up fine as long as you don't consistently reef on them.
