UPDATE: I have had the box mounted for approximately 2 years and just within the last couple of weeks the box seemed to have a difficult time staying latched in place and upon investigation I found that the bracket attached to the front of box that holds the rod which latches to the mount on the bedside has broken away from the box. This box has been under my tonneau cover and is used to hold typical pickup truck items such as tow straps, tie downs, jumper cables etc. nothing heavy. The box has not been excessively used and I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've had to access it. When hauling heavy items in the bed or if it appears it will be in the way I remove it to avoid damage, not abused in any way. A poorly engineered design for the real world, it simply cannot handle the vibration and bouncing in the rear of the pickup bed. It looks like the only option is to try and rig some sort of repair i.e. epoxy or otherwise or throw the box away. $200.00 is a lot of money to pay for something that is apparently untested in the real world. This box needs to be made from aluminum or similar or the brackets properly reinforced.I like the concept of the box but I definitely would not recommend or purchase again! I see other reviewers have had the same problem. I needed a side box that would fit under the bed rails of my truck so that I would still be able to use my folding tonneau cover. After much research I decided that the Swing Case would be my best choice. When I first received it I was somewhat skeptical about the strength of the plastic but I have had it for several months now and have traveled on smooth, rough and dirt roads and have had no problems with the plastic box and the swing mechanism works flawlessly. It was a fairly simple install although you have to be willing to drill into the inside of your bedside. I like the fact that it can be easily lifted out and removed in the event you need those extra few inches to haul something. In my opinion, it could be a little larger and a little less money but I would probably purchase again.

Not the first one of these I have had, but they have improved them in general since the last time I bought one. I ordered both sides for my F250, knuckleheads at Amazon sent two driver's. Got the wrong one swapped out and all was good... EXCEPT..... Truck Hero needs to get the QC on the install parts squared away. Driver's side had some extra screws, nothing wrong with extras! However the passenger side had NO - NONE - ZIP - ZILCH - NADA for the nuts to attach the arm to the bracket. Luckily I dug around in my extra nuts bin and found some. So before you start out on the project, and as you always should, make sure you have all of the miscellaneous nuts & bolts you need.

First, I will say installation was very easy, but I am disappointed beyond that. The tool box, in the closed position, interfered with the latch for my tonneau cover. I had to modify the latch to allow the toolbox to lock in place. The tool box does not swing out far enough to fully open the lid with my tonneau cover closed. After I installed the toobox i noticed the lid was cracked on top. I have glued the crack and do not intend to send it back since I would have to remove the brackets I already installed. I really expected better construction of the toolbox because of the price. The mounting brackets are durable, but the box itself, not so much.
