Atrantil Review
I have recently been experiencing extreme gas, bloating, constipation, and difficulty with weight control, as well as occasional breakouts of red rashes and mild itchiness in various places. These are textbook symptoms of IMO (intestinal methanogenic archaebacter overgrowth). I tried Emma for a couple of weeks with limited success. After researching this condition I realized that Atrantil seems to be the most effective product on the market available for dealing with this problem. Atrantil contains red quebracho, which seems to be necessary to break up the biofilm developed by archaebacter infecting the small intestine. Unfortunately this supplement is not available in supplement form except in Atrantil, since the developer of Atrantil has patented this formulation for dealing with digestive problems. Do not confuse red quebracho (Schinopsis) with white quebracho (Aspidosperma), both of which are available in supplement form for human consumption. Methanogenic archaebacter in the small intestine generate copious amounts of methane gas, which has recently been shown to shut down intestinal peristalsis (hence the constipation and bloating). Leaky gut probably accounts for the rashes and itching. Per recommendation from another commenter here I am also taking a gut motility enhancer to combat the peristalsis inhibition. I also recommend consuming coffee, as this has laxative properties, even in decaffeinated form (ie. caffeine does not seem to be the active laxative in coffee). After one week of consuming 2 x 3 Atrantil capsules, two gut motility capsules, and several cups of coffee per day I have gone from having an incomplete stool movement with straining about once every two days to two more complete ones per day with much less difficulty. I have less (but not zero) gas, less bloating, and less itchiness. I intend to maintain this protocol for one month to clear the archaea from my small intestine, and then switch to a berberine-based supplement like Emma or just high-strength berberine to clear out the SIBO (conventional bacteria) which is currently feeding hydrogen to the archaea in my small intestine. I believe that this approach will resolve this condition and restore my digestive function to normalcy.

THIS STUFF WORKS PEOPLE, TAKE IT FROM A REGISTERED NURSE!
Wow, what just happened? So, I have been trying to figure out my digestive issues for a year! I just had my gallbladder removed 6-weeks ago and continued to have bloating and constipation beyond belief. I mean, I was so bloated that I felt 9-months pregnant all the time… unable to mobilize gas and taking MiraLax & Senna max dose daily! GI Doctor put me on Reglan which helps my motility issues slightly but started giving me Tartitive Diskenesia symptoms… bad! Face twitching!I’ve been convinced that I have SIBO/IMO and asked my GI for a SIBO test but he blew me off! So I’ve been doing my research and stumbled upon Dr.Siebecker and her recommendations! This product is part of the herbal remedy for SIBO/IMO & for MAINTENANCE OF SIBO….along with other herbals.I purchased this and took it for the first time today! Just one with breakfast and one capsule with lunch! My goodness WHAT HAS JUST HAPPENED? My bloating is almost gone, I’m finally passing gas and I feel like a human being today. I have been in so much pain and have had so much horrible anxiety with this whole experience. I have been so miserable most of the time! My waste line has hurt so bad I can’t wear jeans. So, I have now purchased the TRIO-SMART BREATH TEST because I am convinced I have SIBO/IMO! I will do this myself and figure this out, I will do the herbal remedies and cure myself.FYI, I am a Registered Nurse as well and I have been so disappointed with the medical healthcare system lately! I am a very healthy eater and I am not giving up my healthy carbs! SIBO feeds off of fiber & carbs. ;(THIS STUFF WORKS PEOPLE!

Did show response BUT Beware-Quebracho can interact with Serotonin/ antidepressant medication
After being on a GLP for years for management of Diabetes, I investigated it's effect on food digestion, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), bloating and constipation due to experiencing same. I found this product and ordered it aftering reviewing testimonials of positive effect. I began noticing at week 2& 3 reduction in abdominal bloat 2 hours after meals and improvement in digestion. Unfortunately, I began having funny "head rushes"/dizziness when getting out of bed. By week 4 the same symptoms were there when getting up and lasting after getting up and sitting. Pupils a bit dilated. As a retired nurse, I looked up the main ingredient, Quebracho, which can interact with Serotonin medications (many of which are in antidepressants )and cause significant side effects. I am going to have to throw out this med Disappointing, as it was seeming to help and with 4# weight loss.

Prescribed Treatment
This was originally prescribed by my nutritionist and natural doctor. It really helps me out a lot especially when I have a flair up, but generally keeps my digestive track from having any future problems if I take it everyday.

Stay near a toilet
TLDR: acted similar to colonoscopy prep and made me fart like an elephant. Made all symptoms worse.I have confirmed methane SIBO with bloating and bowel urgency & frequency being my main symptoms. I have been treating it with oregano oil, garlic extract, and neem extract. I experienced an initial herx reaction with those (headache, feeling flu-ish) then started feeling better and having better BM's but still having to go more frequently than normal (3-4x a day when I was 1x a day before SIBO).I decided to add this to my protocol as someone in my SIBO group swore it helped them have better motility so it got everything out at once (trying to not be too graphic here), rather than smaller BM's more frequently which is annoying and inconvenient when you are trying to go about your life away from a toilet. They said it helped them remain SIBO-free as well thanks to keeping things moving along as they should be.WELL.... I've been on this for 3 days now with only 1 pill in the AM with food and one in the PM with food, and unless I'm suddenly having another much more horrible herx reaction, this stuff is giving me all the issues it's meant to treat.*TMI WARNING* I am so incredibly bloated, have like 5 second long gigantic farts that smell horrendous, and have been having spicy lava waterfalls all day every day since starting. I'm worried about dehydration, legitimately. My liver or gallbladder seem to be irritated because what ends up in the toilet is yellow. Thank God I have nowhere pressing that I need to be because I need to stay within 20 ft of a toilet at all times right now. The transit time for my guts is roughly 45 min at the moment, I'm legitimately seeing things come out via my backdoor that I just ate, and I've taken 2 Imodium with seemingly no effect. My body is exorcising the demons I guess, I'm just not sure if this is something I need to power through to feel better or move on to a less aggressive treatment. I'll update if I decide to stick with it and see positive change.

Contains magnesium stearate
I couldn’t figure out why my gut was getting WORSE while taking Atrantil. Turns out magnesium stearate is a known gut irritant that can lead to bloating and stomach pain. It actually causes leaky gut, and it’s an “other ingredient” in this supplement. Yikes. Never buying it again.
