Leaking from the pump portion!
First thing to note on this after market motor and pump assembly is that on the original pump, the halves of the pump are either glued together, or sonic welded (most likely sonic weld). This after market replacement is screwed together and I assume (or would hope) there is a gasket or some type of RTV between the halves. The ratings on the motor, amps and RPMs are different too.So, after finally having a day off from work to work on the dishwasher, I get this put on. It fit where the old one came off easy enough. I get the dishwasher back in place, reconnect wiring, hoses, etc. I manually add water to the tub of the dishwasher like you are supposed to do so the pump doesn't have a dry start and proceed through a quick cycle to confirm it's working. Well let me tell you, when the drain solenoid kicked in, the dog went crazy and you could hear the loud buzz/whine from the solenoid all over the house! So at this point I'm still laying on the floor with my flashlight and I start seeing water puddling from behind the solenoid area and another spot to the right of it. The two large connections are held on with hose clamps and were tight, but the pump is leaking between the screwed together halves! These leaks are not hose leaks as that would be much more water than what this is, but at the same time, a leaking pump does me no good! I'll be back pulling this pump on my day off again and requesting a return label and refund through the Amazon Prime system. I'll have to purchase the original GE replacement assembly, which costs more, but I've already cost myself the part cost savings by having to spend more of my free time working through this and dealing with the removal and return of this leaking and obnoxiously loud assembly.
