Love It
I buy all the Success and the Reviews and Rationales to help me with nursing school. Love doing questions because it trains you in critical thinking and helps you get the correct answers. I am a book worm and I like to have as much information as I can. I recommend this books since they worked for me, but please ask questions to different people remember everyone studies different. My only advise is , find what works for you and stick to it.

Pharmacology Life Saver
This book has so many good questions with even better rationales to help learn pharmacology. I'm not a good test taker but this has really helped me learn how to read through a question, rule things out, and explain why each answer is correct. I definitely recommend this to any nursing students in pharmacology class as well as anyone studying for the NCLEX.

A must have for Nursing Pharmacology!
This book is a must have for finishing nursing pharmacology! I wouldn't had been able to finish the class without this book & I did receive an A. Great questions with clear and concise rationals. I prefer the FA Davis Success Series to any other NCLEX test prep books out there. Its a pricey book, but well worth the cost.

Not like nursing school tests at my school
I gave this 4 out of 5 stars since, it is more aimed at students taking the NCLEX. It didn't really help me as a nursing student, the questions in this book are very hard. Not like nursing school tests at my school.

If you want to pass pharmacology this is how
This is how I passed pharmacology. The rationales to each question encourages critical thinking and a true understanding of the drug, safety, and reason for administration.

Good for content review, not so good for NCLEX study.
Not a bad resource for pharmacology class, but not a good resource for NCLEX study. There seems to be some inconsistency with the principles in the rationales throughout the book. For example, for NCLEX, you're not supposed to add anything to the question stem that isn't there, and you're not supposed to read into an answer to the extent that you need to start making up a story for why the answer choice could make sense. Yet there are questions in the book where selecting the "right answer" would require you to infer something that is NOT in the question stem, or make up a story for the answer to work.E.g. There is a question about an obese person with tachycardia, restlessness, etc., shows up in the ER, and the right answer is that the nurse asks the client how long he's been taking appetite suppressants. Well, you could ask the client IF he is taking them, but there's no clear indication anywhere in the stem that he is; more to the point there are other answers that make sense, so why would you necessarily infer that the patient's problem is abuse of appetite suppressants when you haven't ruled out other possibilities that are just as likely (e.g. use of amphetamines)... The answer fits, but you have to add information to the stem that isn't there, and you could just as easily add information for other answer choices that makes sense... In short, the question strays from the very principles of problem solving that the NCLEX is designed to test, such as don't add things to the stem that aren't there, and don't make up a story for why an answer could work.On the other hand, the content review of this book is very helpful. My complaint is that the questions that undermine NCLEX taking principles might just add more confusion and frustration to somebody who is trying to master those principles (and pass the NCLEX).
