BEST SAFETY RAZOR EVER A real hefty, sturdy, durable Safety Razor. Its not only a tool but an work of art, with its solid body, coated with shiny chrome coating which shines like a mirror when polished, and its knurling that helps with the grip even when fingers are wet and slick with shaving cream, the top cap, the safety bar, the handle, all of it together, makes it look marvellous. I was a bit sceptical when buying thinking that the top cap may have a laser engraving of the pearl brand like the bottom does, and I'm not a big fan of such branding, but I was very happy when I found out that in modern pearl razors, that's not the case. Their choice to not engrave the brand on the top cap, is very professional as it makes the razor look very neat and premium For the budget, its MORE than premium. I've found my daily shaving workhorse, and that's this one right here. The head works perfectly. I've used some good quality safety razors before, and those have done the job quite well but not as good as this one. With one 0 pressure up to down (with the grain) stroke, it takes of 95% of the beard growth, provided the blade is sharp enough. And the blade reveal is JUST PERFECT. Not too mild, not too sharp, just PERFECT for my daily shave. If i want a single wtg shave, it gets the job done and on days I'm chasing BBS, going against the grain with this razor isn't a problem at all. Its just so well built. The blade reveal and head geometry is so PERFECTLY done, that its very easy to use. And its durable. I got the shiny chrome one with only the closed comb head, because I shave daily, so I didn't think getting the aggresive open comb head would be such a good investment for me. This came in, 7 months ago, and I've been using it daily for the past 7 months and I decided back then, that I'd write a review only after I put it to the test. And it did do wonderfully well in that test of daily shaving. Comfortable, irritation free shaving, even when going atg. That's just how perfect the head geometry is. The premium mirror shine head is amazing. Looks just like an Edwin Jagger. So we don't need to pay foreign countries an absurd amount of money anymore, Pearl provides the same geometry and better design, for the fraction of a price. I know, its still not "cheap", but its reasonable. Especially because it works so well, and looks and feels premium. There's no blade overhang, which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, so very safe to use and screw on. I've read a few people trashing on this razor, saying the screw on the head might break a year later. What we do need to understand, is that its not a CNC razor, in which the whole thing is cut from ONE solid metal. This is a budget razor where parts are manufactured separately then put together. So, it may break after so many uses. But pearl is a great company, they sell just the head, for ₹300. So spending ₹300 every few years is still saving way more money than using disposables or cartridge razors. So once a person gets used to this razor, they'd get salon style shave, EVERYDAY with only having to spend ₹300 every few years on the safety razor itself (that is, IF the head breaks; I think if handled carefully and dried and stored properly, it may last longer; mine is still intact and working perfectly well, just like it did when it 1st arrived). And pearl also sells CNC razors, which are built to last, and cut from one solid metal, so if anyone wants to, they could invest in that, and that'd literally outlive them, if taken care of. For me personally, this one's the BEST in the market. I've used Bombay Shaving Company razor, and left a review on that one. Even though that one is very safe to use, the handle's too slim and the blade reveal is so less that getting the right angle while going atg, is very difficult thus, I inevitably ended up pressing too hard and cutting myself with that razor, but Pearl L55 is GREAT. The geomtry is so good, that finding the proper angle is VERY EASY. And the body is so heavy by itself, that the razor feels intuitive, that, we don't need to apply any pressure at all. The razor's weight would make our instincts know not to apply pressure and the shaves would go well. Buying this razor would not be a waste of money at all. This is worth every rupee. I needed one razor to use daily. I am the kid of man who invests into ONE proper thing and uses it daily without having to worry about a thousand different things. I like being comfortable and if I want to do something, I like doing it with comfort and style. For me, the Pearl L55 safety razor checks all those boxes when it comes to shaving. I've used the rolason lg93 butterfly opening safety razor, and thoughy I found the one, but it bothered me because it was a bit too aggressive and would still leave whiskers behind, so I needed one I could use daily, which would take beardage off without leaving whiskers behind, would be medium aggressive and look good and be durable, and most importantly, would be the one that after i buy, I wouldn't need to bother buyin anymore. My search has finally come to an end, because after I bought this, all those problems I was having were solved. This is the holy grail. And its even better because its made in India, and I ALWAYS love buying products that are made in India, because they're so durable and also, because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE India. This purchase was important to me because I wanted to find one which could be my daily shaving partner, thus, end my search and I could stop buying razors. Like I said, I'm not the man to use a different one for each day of the week, so this one HAD to be the one to complete my search. And it did. If I'm being honest, I was sceptical because I read a LOT of reviews of this razor and watched a few videos, and some said it was good, but a few reviwes said it was bad. And those few reviews made me feel sceptical about buying it, but I still did, because there were more good reviews than bad. And one thing I'd say is that, if you're reading my review, please just go ahead and buy it, you wouldn't be disappointed, and it'd be worth every rupee. A few people just like to speak ill of everything. Please don't let their unnecessary negative reviews across amazon and reddit ruin your chance to acquire this beautiful weapon of shaving. But that's just my personal opinion. Do as you'd like. But this razor wouldn't disappoint, that's a fact.

Have used the product and reviewing.. Pros: 1. Packaging is perfect 2. Weight of the razor is superb 3. Length of the stem is perfect to handle 4. Comes with close and open comb and well designed 5. Gives a smooth shave due to razor weight.. No cuts unless you want to deliberately do it 😁 6. Brass finish gives an elegant antique look and feel. Cons: 1.Blade is okish for rough hair, 1.5 times use blade 2. The thread of the head must be fully crafted to the end of the head to accommodate only balde and stem without the protector.. as I don't shave my mustache, i like to shape it only with the head, blade and stem fitted without protector.. Yet found an alternate way keeping a small washer in between to grip the blade and stem Verdict: Those who are not keen on shaping their mustache can blindly go for it.. One of the best in this price range.

This safety razor is genuinely a great tool. It weighs in at 115 grams, the weight feels perfect and it’s surprisingly effective. Don’t be fooled that they call it a mild razor, I’ve been using a straight razor for years and considered switching to a safety razor, but I still ended up with several cuts during my first shave. However, that’s more of a personal skill issue. The razor itself is well-built and of high quality.

Nice product. I thought its light in weight. But its good quality and little weighter than nrml shaver. Gives smooth shave too... i loved it.

great product geat packaging, the box will b helpfull in long run i got two blades, one open comb and one close comb just as written in discription (oc+cc) there is no overhang from the sides when we put the blade in, the weight is heavy and looks and feels very premium. i have only used closed comb to shave for now and it feels mild, not aggressive. i am happy with the razor. also i read some comments about its finishing coming off and colour changing, so i coated the entire thing with some almond oil and mustard oil which will protect it from corrosion in the long run, lets see how it works . for now 10/10 product for me.

Here I rate it 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. Razor is really nice and looks mean in the hand. It is chunky, metal all around and is heavy. The knurlings are sharp but would not cut your hand and is unslippery with sure confidence while shaving. The head is light means I have Romer 7 premium - The real piece of perfection - and this one is no match for its exquisite value. However, this does no mean that this razor is not value proposition. This razor has a heavy handle which takes care of the all the gliding and shaving requirements. The head though light but well crafted. This razor is super and gives ample feedback during shave. Here the close comb is not mild but it is medium aggressive. I can feel the skin scrapping during shaving. The open comb is mellowed as it is definitely aggressive but in a toned down version. Here, both comb gives smooth shave and is a personal choice. Well, after my beautiful and cherished possession and shaving with Romer 7 premium Razor matured, I felt a need for a full head razor and not the dual head which the Romer 7 Premium came with. Romer 7 Premium is perfect and gives me smooth baby and buttery shave and gives best of the both worlds - open as well as closed comb shave - and all packed in one razor. However, I realised that I must go ahead with a full fledged razor and started to look out for a razor which comes with both heads separately. My choices fell upon Pearl L-55 ; Pearl A-141 and Bombay Shaving Company Razor. The Bombay Shaving Company Razor has the oomph factor and is the beautiful among the trio but the zamak metal used in it fells short of the durability and longetivity of the Pearl Razors. The price is also high among the trio. Pearl A141 has great reviews but the resin/plastic covering over the metal in the handle part is not to my liking. Pearl L-55 fits all my requirements and gosh I am really happy with this razor. One reviewer mentioned that the close comb head of L-55 is the replica of famed Edwin Jagger DE-89 razor head. The close head of L-55 really gives a close shave without any nicks and pricks and worries of open comb. One has to admire the art of shaving albeit Wet Shaving to appreciate this piece of razor. This razor open comb also performs well and gives close shave and this all comes down to one's preference. This razor performance is super and is easy to use and a value for money product. Enjoy shaving and enjoy the joy of life.

This razor is mild but efficient when using Wilkinson Sword blades. I love the vintage look. The Edwin Jagger/ Gillette Heritage style of head is excellent.

The quality of this razor is highly impressive at this price point. Good weight, great finish and attention to detail. The head provided on this 3 piece is geared to a very mild shave, which it gave and I do not always like for my beard profile. However, this is just outstanding quality at any price point....Bravo Pearl, I'm a fan!
