We have been using both the air and water filters for many years without any issues. They both fit our Sub-Zero perfectly. I change the air filter once a year, but only replace the water filter every other year. We have a whole-home water system, and we don't have a water dispenser in the refrigerator, nor do we make much ice. So I see no reason to replace the filter every year. As such, zilch issues and even bigger money savings. Since the air filter contains a small amount of mercury, we carefully dispose of the old cartridges at our designated local facility.
