OGX Hydrate & Defrizz + Kukui Oil Anti-Frizz Hydrating Oil, 4 Ounce

i am obsessed with this product. my grandma used this on me when i was growing up and i highly believe this product is why my hair is so long and healthy to this day! it also de-frizz instantly, doesn’t leave your hair greasy, and one bottle will last you years!

I have long hair that was just highlighted. So I tried this on my frizzy "work hair" to see what this could do. First of all, it SMELLS amazing - like a coconut musk tropical oil. I sprayed a little on my dry hair then brushed it thru. I couldn't believe how it smoothed it out, brought out the shine, and made it look so silky. We women do so many harmful thing to our hair with the blow dryer, curling irons etc. I think this is a wonderful way to replace some of the natural oils that are lost by our daily hair routines. I feel like I just stepped out of a high end beauty salon. This stuff is like the ultimate pampering for your hair. I definitely recommend it!

I had previously been using the OGX Hydrate & Tone Reviving + Lavender Luminescent Platinum Oil, and it worked very well, but I was looking for a spray to use. I decided to try the OGX Anti-Frizz Hydrating Kukui Oil. I have very fine hair, and fortunately this spray has a fine mist that doesn’t weight my hair down once dry. I use about 3-4 spritzes on my damp hair, use my fingers to work it through a bit, and am able to comb out my hair with little to no resistance (compared to no product). It does have a “beachy/Hawaiian” scent, like sunscreen might have, but I find it dissipates rather quickly. I live in Florida, and so I’m waiting to see how this helps with the humidity that’s around the corner, but so far, I’m very pleased.

The first time I tried this product was a few years ago when I bought it at my local grocery store. When I used it the results were AMAZING. I have very long, wavy/curly hair so it frizzes very easily, but not only did this product defrizz my hair, it also moisturized it, making it super silky. On top of that it smelled really nice. Anyway, I had to dock a star bc I ordered it recently and I found that they changed the formula. This new formula also works really well with similar results as before, but my hair still feels a bit dry closer to the ends. The smell is also nuttier and gentler than before, but it's still really nice and definitely worth giving a try. It also shipped in 3 days when it was estimated to come in 5 days, so that's another plus.

I have virgin (untreated/uncolored) Caucasian hair that gets wavy when wet and is mostly straight when dry. When I turned 20, my hair changed texture - individual hairs here and there became frizzy and curly. No amount of gel, pomade, flat ironing, smooth serums or hydrating conditioners would make these hairs stay down, and my hair always looks frazzled and unkempt even though it was healthy. I even tried the brand name products (the one with "Frizz" in its name) and they didn't do a thing. Because my hair is also fine and has a tendency to go limp, I was really hesitant to try this product. I do not have curly ethnic hair like most of the positive reviewers of this product describe themselves as having, so I thought this would likely be too much for my limp fine hair. I am really glad I bit the bullet and tried it, though, because it has actually worked! My flyaways and frizzies are 90% gone even after blow drying. Woo hoo, finally! A few things I noticed: I am not a fan of the fragrance, which is more perfume-y than fresh. It does mostly go away once the oil dries. Also, for me there is a VERY fine line between just enough and too much of this oil! Using it on damp hair resulted in an oil slick. Now I do only four sprays when my hair is still wet: one on the left, one on the right, one in the back (my hair is long) and one on my hands which I then run through the hair at my temples (the frizziest hair on my head). Then I comb it through with a wide tooth comb.

Provided they haven’t changed the formula, I JUST LOVE THIS HAIR OIL! I used to use this after getting out of the shower on freshly-washed hair. I usually put on a leave-in conditioner (OGX Kukui oil conditioner), that you rinse out while in the shower. But when I use that I like to use it on longer showers, when it can be in my hair for 5-10 min before I rinse it out. My main use is at the gym, after finishing my swim. My shower afterwards there is longer as I’m also rinsing out my suit & cap etc. So when doing a quicker shower at home, I preferred to use this leave-in product instead. I’d towel-dry my hair, rub a small amount in my hands and then through my hair and air-dry or blow-dry. It left my hair really soft and enhanced its shine. OGX quit selling it several years ago, and I was so sad - I hadn’t found any other similar product like it! On a whim, I decided to search for it and YAY! There it is! It’s somewhat expensive, but for the very small amount you use, the bottle will last me a long time. I sure hope it’s the same product!

It's difficult for me to find hair products that hydrate and smooth my wavy/curly long hair (that definitely craves a lot of hydration!) without weighing it down, making it look oily, or failing to control the frizz. This Kukui oil does not disappoint! The oil smoothes out my hair and any frizz while defining my waves and curls, and really allows me to embrace the wash-and-go lifestyle. It also smells great; I spritz the oil in my hair and the smell makes me feel like I'm on vacation. It's a perfect product to try if you're looking for hydration and de-frizzing without a super expensive price tag. Love it!

It does make my hair oily bit more early but does keeps the frizz away when ever I use it.

Good product. I use this after washing my hair. It doesn't stick at all and gives a good shine to the hair. Only drawback is it is a little costly.

I’m so glad I found this product. I’ve used OGX shampoo and conditioner before but was always skeptical of using oil as I don’t want my hair to get too oily. But after reading about this, I decided to give it a try and it works like a wonder. It’s perfect for taming dry and frizzy hair and adds such a nice finish, which is not oily at all. I use it on colored hair and it only makes my hair look more healthier and voluminous with a natural shine.

It does make my hair feel softer and less frizzy

This is good one. It is a very light oil that doesn’t make your hair look greasy if you use it sparingly. It does give your hair a very nice shine and helps it look less frizzy.
