I am 80 years but I still have good eyesight except for the smaller, lighter print or on colored background which does not provide good contrast and some of which seems designed to make it difficult to read. I have reading glasses & the magnifier app on my iPhone but sometimes I need a little more. Reading glasses are good except for the small, light fine print & the camera on the iPhone is off center so I am always searching for my target but it is handy. I have a couple of the Acrylic lens magnifiers which are advertised as good as glass but they are not. They are usually unclear & easily scratched so I wanted a lens of real glass but they often come from scientific firms & cost Big Bucks. This Real Glass magnifier matches my needs.**This 30X magnifying glass is heavy & bulky with a wide handle so it could be a task to use for long periods of time but the image is Clear, the 30X magnification much, much better than anything from the big box store, you are looking right through the Large lens so no issue finding what you want to enlarge, the 12 White LED lights provide bright, even lighting & the lens is Real Glass. I think magnification comes from having 2 lens a distance apart rather than a single solid lens but IT WORKS.**The switch is a large convenient slide switch which is easy to operate. This item is so inexpensive that I have to question it's durability because it is so inexpensive but so far I have no other reason to believe that it will not be durable. It uses 2 AA batteries & the battery compartment is easy to access. The lights are LED so 2 AA batteries should last quite some time & the lights themselves should last a long time. It comes in a somewhat thin plastic bag with a flap which will be resealable for a few dozen times which is inside of a fairly sturdy cardboard box. I store it back inside of both but I wish they had an option for a cloth bag or an easy open, lined hard-shell case such as eyeglasses often come in. From the picture I had thought the white plastic might look cheap but in reality the white with a wide black band around the lens on top looks nice.**I am likely to buy a couple more to keep in different locations since it is not the most portable of items. I definitely recommend this 30X REAL GLASS magnifier to anyone who needs such & it is inexpensive enough that even if you don't "need" but just want one, it is a good buy.

Bought for my Mom. She loves it! The size is perfect for her hand and what she is trying to read. The magnification is just the right amount. She was surprised by how bright the lights got. Definitely worth the money.

This hefty magnifying glass is eight inches long and weighs eight ounces without the required 2 AA size batteries (not Included). The batteries are required to light up the 12 LED lights installed in the circumference of the lens. The circular glass lens measures three inches in diameter. The reason I am returning this fine magnifier is because I was misled. The Amazon ad and even the product box claims 30X magnification. Actually the magnification is only 2X or 3X. I already own 4 magnifying glasses with this same magnifying power. I only bought this glass due to false claims that had me thinking it was much more powerful. I noticed on Amazon other magnifying glasses all claim 30X magnifying power so DON’T believe it. They very likely are all 3X and that is stretching the magnification IMHO. It is probably 2.5X. One magnifying glass from another maker claims 30X but if you click in on their site, they state magnification is 3.0 power. All my own magnifying glasses have the identical magnification power as this glass be they glass or plastic lens so this must be a manufacturer standard. If you buy a magnifier for reading, shop for a rectangular lens. With a circular 3 inch lens, readers are forced to center the text to get the maximum 3 inch wide field of view. With a rectangular lens you don’t have to waste as much energy to read the text since you don’t have to center the magnifier to read the next line of text. This is a quality product, well-made, but I deduct one star for false advertising. Since this product does not even out power my four magnifying glasses that I currently own, I am returning it.

I love the heft of this magnifying glass. The light(s) work to great effect. I keep it handy and within arm’s reach, I use it a lot. The price was also within arm's reach. Perfect.

Very nice magnifying glass, the light is a nice addition as I inspect coins. The glass is clear, the image is not distorted.

Absolutely love this magnifier every once in awhile we need to fix something and it seems like everything has such tiny parts anymore this is such a boon you don't have to worry about a lamp and everything like that it just works so well highly recommend to those that need a little bit of extra magnification.
