Thai Chilli Paste with Holy Basil Leaves 227g by XO

Tried a few others but this one is my fav. Always good, the closest I've ever come to making an authentic-tasting one by myself.

You only need one Tea Spoon for adding into a curry paste. Versatile ingredient that can be added into salads, pasta and goes with meat. Chicken or bacon. Be careful, it packs a punch, but, very tasty.

One of my favourite meals is Thai chicken holy basil with chilli and sticky rice, often called Pad Krapow Gai, though for me it doesn't matter really what protein or any really, baby corn and mange tout or green beans work greatI normally make it from scratch and just thought that this would save some time as allegedly restaurants use it.It is a good blend for sure, but I was imagining that basically I could use it in place of the garlic, chillies and basil. To an extent that is true, it is hot 🔥🔥🔥 and plenty of garlic, but really lacking in the holy basil, which really is what makes the dish, so if you are looking for essential a stir fry mix for Pad Krapow Gai then this isn't it.I had to add Thai basil to get the taste up, along with stock, soy, fish sauce and some oyster sauce.It will make a reasonable base for any other stir fry, but I won't be buying it again.
