JVC KDX330BTS vs Pioneer MVH-X380BT....buy the JVC!
I ordered this to replace a Pioneer MVH-X380BT. I purchased the Pioneer unit a week earlier. I had to send it back because the pre-outs would not work. I decided to replace it with this JVC unit. I wish I had never bothered with the Pioneer. The JVC is a much better unit in every respect except for depth of install. The Pioneer is about 2.5" and the JVC is 4.5". The JVC has many more features to customize the sound and sources. I paired the JVC with a Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 without any issues. The JVC has 4volt pre-outs which is an upgrade from the Pioneer's 2volts (when they work). It has front and rear/sub pre-outs. The Bluetooth paired easily with my Android phone and streamed music right away. The JVC has an orange/white wire that can connect to the vehicles lighting system to control dimming as well as a Day/Night/Auto selective dimming in the setup menus. It takes awhile to go through all the menus to customize the sound but it was fairly intuitive. It's not nearly as complicated as some Kenwood high-end units. I wish there was a feature to turn off the built-in amplifier since I am not using the high level speaker wires with the amp. Unlike the Pioneer, when you turn the unit off, it completely turns off. The Pioneer still remains lighted, which could be a good or bad feature, depending upon your preference. The remote control is smaller than the Pioneer and has fewer features but it is easier to operate without having to look at the buttons which are more tactile. The volume range goes from 0 to 35, versus the Pioneer which is 0 to 62. Though I will probably never use all the many features of this unit, cost wise, you get more for your money than buying the similarly priced Pioneer. Unless you are limited to 2.5" depth, when installing the unit, the JVC, with a depth of 4.5" is a much better option, less price and more features than the Pioneer. I would not hesitate to recommend this radio in the price range it competes.

Nice value quality upgrade
This is a great way to get some nice modern stereo features in your old car. All the advertised features work great.I particularly like that it has a pretty good built in AMP as compared to other cheap stereos. I didn't want to go all out upgrading my car, but the higher wattage output of this stereo provided some extra punch to my speakers.

so I installed it and am happy with it's performance for the price
The vendor sent me one that was missing parts, had a damaged cover, and had been taped back up; I've left him an appropriate review. But the unit itself looked ok and worked, so I installed it and am happy with it's performance for the price. I mostly use AM, FM, and Bluetooth, all work nicely. I give it only 3 stars because the display has the WORST glare I've ever seen, and I'm an old guy. I often can't see the display until after dark. The design is also a bit cheap looking.

Sound great while it work, but encountered problems along the way until unit suddenly hanged and died.
This was purchased together with the Hertz Audio DSK 165.3 and Rockford Fosgate P300-10 to replace the stock JVC head unit of my Mitsubishi Montero that plays only MP3 files, but will hang-up and stop in the middle of the inserted 4GB flash drive. Expecting that this problem will be addressed by this new unit advertised to play FLAC and WAV files, I placed a 16GB loaded with around 12GB of mix FLAC, WAV and MP3 files to its front USB port. It plays the contents for a while but the same problem manifests as it hang-up again along the way. Tried to limit the FLAC and WAV content thinking that this could be the reason, but to no avail. Because of this, I was constrained to confined my listening using my IPhone 5 connected to the USB port. The sound generated from this source as well as via Bluetooth is quite good. But because I ended up not using flash drive in playing it due to the problem encountered, I am taking off a star from its rating since all other functions work well.Started to have problems though after more or less 8 months in service as blue tooth and usb ceased to function. Finally, after around 10 months in operation unit suddenly hanged while hooking a pioneer dap and will not not turn off even when car is turned off prompting me to unhook battery to put it off. However, when I plugged the battery back unit will no longer power up.

Tough fit in Ford Ranger
Nothing wrong with the radio - but when trying to put it in an older car, in my case a 2008 Ford Ranger, it requires some serious MacGyver’ing to make it fit. Had to file down the top and bottom of the radio opening in the car, and a few other items. Nothing wrong with the radio - but on older cars, be ready to invest some time.

It works well
Very simple review here. It is very cheap and everything works as it should. Install was also pretty easy.

Hunk of Junk !! Save your hard earned $$$$
Insert the USB loaded with music and I get a NOT SUPPORTED message. 5 min later it starts working. Back and forth. It's formatted to FAT32@10 speed rating so it's not my USB drive that's the problem.. Other times the music starts to studder and skip before it settles down and plays. Kind of a dumb design is not having 2 USB ports. Sometimes my phones batt is low so I have to take out my music to charge my phone and listen to crap fm or am until phone is charged. I had to buy and after market USB charger for my lighter which defeats the purpose of having a cleaner organized dash. Sound isn't bad with lots of adjustments to to tailor to your liking especially when you install an amp and sub. It's passes the sound test but the USB problems give it a 1 star from me because the USB is the only way to listen to my music. I don't need to add costs to subscribe to Pandora or I heart radio or Sirius Radio so without the USB function properly consistently I would say DO NOT BUY !! Save yourself the headache I'm going through as a very unhappy customer. It could also be related to the fact the it arrived with a cracked faceplate and zero advertised accessories that I replaced out of pocket except for the remote.
